LIVESTREAM Part 2

Myrl Ann passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022.  She was born July 5, 1937 to loving parents, Cyril and Genevieve Croff Jex.  Myrl attended school at Thurber Elementary, Spanish Fork Jr. High, and Spanish Fork High School where she was a member of the drill team. At barely 5 feet tall, she was the shortest girl on the team.  In those days, the shortest girl always led the drill team on to the floor, and sometimes she even played the drum to lead them out.

In April of 1955 Myrl met a young man from Springville named Kaye Averett.  Kaye was very excited to meet her; it was love at first sight. Two years later, on April 11, 1957 they were married in the Manti Temple.

Myrl Ann loved sports, especially the Utah Jazz and BYU Basketball.  Kaye and Myrl were BYU season ticket holders for over 30 years.  Of all the games and activities she attended, Myrl Ann’s favorites were those of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  She also enjoyed camping in her trailer at several favorite locations including Mirror Lake, Fish Lake, Fairview, and Diamond Fork.  It didn’t matter where as long as her sweetheart was by her side.

Myrl Ann loved to cook and enjoyed seeing a hungry stomach happy.  She fed the kids at Spanish Fork Jr. High for 23 years and loved her job.  Myrl Ann enjoyed singing and was part of a trio that performed at various community and church functions.

Myrl Ann is survived by her loving husband Kaye and her children: Kathy Carter (Spanish Fork, UT), Leslie (Jed) Gordon (Salem, UT), Darren (Marci) Averett (Salem, UT), and Jeff (Kami) Averett (Salem, UT) along with 23 Grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister and brother in law – Ranae and Bill Jenkins.

Myrl Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a sister and brother in law –  Dellavene and Robert Stevens.

Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Orchard View Assisted Living and Memory Care.   We love you all. We are also deeply grateful for Doctors Frandsen, Miller, Wallentine, and Christensen for their many hours of care for our dear mother.
