Monroe Lachell Edenfield was born on February 6, 2021, in Provo, Utah, and was called back to heaven on July 11, 2021, while in the arms of her parents.
Monroe was born into a body that was broken. Her parents, along with many doctors and nurses, tried desperately to fix it through many procedures and surgeries. Monroe endured more than any baby should ever have to. She was a fighter and stronger than anyone could have predicted. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain or confined to her body’s physical limitations.
Monroe spent most of her life at Primary Children’s Hospital where she was taken great care of by her many nurses, doctors, and therapists. Her family would like to especially thank her primary nurses, Brooklynn, Lexie, Maddie, and Sarah, as well as her therapist, Melanie, who loved and took extra good care of her. She was well known in the NICU for her expressive eyebrows, wispy hair, and giving the IV team a run for their money.
Monroe was able to spend a few short days at home with her family where she was loved and cared for by her parents, Anthony and Christene, and her older siblings, Hunter, Linden, and Ivie. She enjoyed meeting her grandparents, Steve and Larene Choate and Grady and Susan Edenfield, and her many uncles and aunts. She is preceded in death by many great grandparents who are taking good care of her in heaven.
A memorial service will be held for her on Saturday, July 17 from 10-12pm at the Walker Funeral Home in Payson, Utah. Everyone is invited to come and see Monroe.
