Mildred Louise Nordstrom Roberts, still young at heart at 90 years old, and a long-time resident of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away, peacefully, on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
The first of five children, she born on November 20, 1929, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Louise Thomas Nordstrom and Martin Leland Nordstrom. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jack Dempsey Roberts.
Those of us who will lovingly remember her are daughters: Suzanne Dunn (Darrel) and Cheryl Orr (Terry); and son, John L. Roberts; including 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Mildred’s life was a living example of service, devotion, and love. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints leading and served in a variety of church callings. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and a participant in Cotillions and Spanish Fork Memorial Parks. Mildred was tenacious in her newspaper sales job and was frequently a top producer for nearly 17 years.
Mildred’s greatest joy, happiness and accomplishment came from her family, as evident in the volume of family photographs covering every available surface of her home.
For those who had the privilege of staying in Jack and Mildred’s home, you were welcomed by comfortable accommodations and an abundance of fine cooking. And always, as you departed Jack or Mildred would ask “can’t you stay a little longer?”
For all who knew and loved the wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, aunt, sister in law, cousin or friend, we would now ask her, can’t you stay a little longer?
God bless you and may the time pass quickly until we meet again.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. The Graveside service will be broadcast live on the Walker Funeral Home Facebook Page

September 16, 2020 at 6:16 pmI remember Mildred attending the 6th grade at Fairview Elementary School. She was only there for maybe one school year. She was the best at playing jacks and taught the 5th and 6th grade girls how to play. She was a beautiful girl. Condolences to the family.

September 19, 2020 at 4:04 pmI loved my Aunt Mildred. She would always take such good care of me when I was a child. She spoiled me rotten and would let me take a little food tray anywhere in the house to eat. It made her happy to always put extra cream and strawberries in whatever cereal I was eating at the time. She just always wanted me to feel loved and cared about. Over the years I always made a special point of spreading to her whenever she was at a family gathering. I loved her very much and will miss her dearly.

September 19, 2020 at 4:20 pmAunt Mildred was one of the most kind people I know. She always greeted me with a genuine smile and asked about my family and children. I always sought her out at family gatherings for a hug and little chat. I will miss visiting with her!
