Mildred Marie Wetzel Graham was born September 21, 1931, at Robinson, Kansas, in the home of her great-grandmother. Her parents were Johan Friedrich Wetzel and Dorothy Evelyn Glenn Wetzel. Mildred passed away at home in Lake Shore, Utah, in the evening of November 24, 2020.
Her father worked on farms in her childhood years. When Mildred was five years old, her parents joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When she was eight years old, she was baptized a member of the church, in a farmer’s pond. The branch of the church they attended consisted of four different families and they met in one of the families’ homes.
Mildred went to grade school in Robinson. She received a driver’s license, when she was 12, so she could drive her father’s jeep to school. There were nine years between her and her oldest brother. Mildred was 19 years old, when her youngest brother was born.
Mildred married William Keith Graham in the Salt Lake Utah Temple, August 27, 1954. Together they had two children: a son; followed by a daughter. The family lived in Provo, Utah, for many years. Mildred and
Keith then built their home in Lake Shore, Utah, in 1980, and have lived there since. She worked at BYU for twenty years.
She had many different callings in the LDS wards she lived in, including serving a mission, with Keith, to Fiji.
Mildred is survived by her husband, Keith; and her daughter, Connie Marie; as well as seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, William (Bill) Lyle Graham.
The family is not having a viewing. Funeral service for family and friends will be Monday, November 30, 2020, at 10 a.m. in the Lake Shore Chapel, 5916 South 3200 West, Spanish Fork, Utah 84660. Interment will follow at Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, Utah 84664.
