It is with deepest sadness, to announce that Michael Troy Buchanan passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 28th 2022. He was 57 at the time of his passing.
Michael is survived by his four children: Preston, Kearstin, Channing, and Shannalee; as well as many wonderful step children, his sisters Ginnette and Joette, his brother Kim, his nieces and nephews, his greatly adored grandchildren: Ashton, Kadince, River, Jett, Legend, and Bennett (they sure loved their Papa Mike); and many other family members whom he loved dearly.
Mike was a hard working man, often traveling the US for jobs, and meeting many great friends along the way. He’d always be able to strike up a conversation with any random stranger, and he made many friends throughout his years of working and traveling. He was loved by many, on the job and in his personal life. He always knew how to crack a joke and make people smile.
Mike deeply loved his country, and always prided himself on helping “build America”, which is partly why he loved working in construction so much. He took it upon himself to help build a brighter future for his home country, and we fondly remember his dedication to his passion. Whether it be driving past a random building, turning on our lights at home, or putting gas into our cars – we are reminded of our dad and the work he accomplished.
Despite his hardships and health problems, he always managed to smile and remain positive. Always dreaming of the next work project or opportunity. Before he passed, he landed a job he had been so excited for. He got to spend his final moments doing what he loved, working hard.
Mike will be forever missed and never forgotten. His soul will live on with his family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Doris and Robert (Bob), his brother Larry, and his sister Robyn.
His funeral will be held at:
Walker Mortuary on Saturday February 19th, at 1:00pm. There will be a link on Walker’s website, for those who wish to join virtually via livestream video.
Address: 587 S 100 W, Payson, UT 84651
