Michael Ron Knight, 48, of Draper, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2026. He was born March 27, 1978, in Payson, Utah, to Ronald and Susan Knight.
Known affectionately as Mike, and to his close family as “Gego,” Mike was the kind of person who had a way of making everyone around him feel like they were his favorite. When Mike was with you, you had his full attention. He had a natural ability to make people feel loved, welcomed, and important, and that is something those who knew him will never forget.
Mike brought an energy with him wherever he went. He was funny, positive, and never took himself too seriously. His laughter was contagious, and he had a way of helping other people let go, laugh a little, and enjoy life. He was simply fun to be around.
Mike was an electrician by trade, but his willingness to help others went far beyond his profession. Friends and family could count on him to help wire a home, replace a fixture, tackle an odd job, or lend a hand with whatever needed to be done. He always wanted to show up for the people he loved, and if time allowed, he made it happen.
He loved the outdoors and spent much of his free time fishing, hunting, and enjoying the places and adventures that came with being outside. He also loved to travel and enjoyed listening to good music. Mike knew how to enjoy life and, more importantly, knew how to bring other people along with him.
Of all the things Mike loved, nothing compared to his children, Kade and Presley. He was a wonderful father who supported them wholeheartedly in everything they wanted to do and become. He was proud of them, encouraged them, and made sure they knew how much they meant to him. He would even join Presley for her weekly yoga sessions—a perfect example of the kind of dad he was: if it mattered to his kids, it mattered to him. Kade and Presley were his everything.
Mike will be deeply missed by his children, Kade and Presley; his mother, Susan Knight; his sister, Loni Buffo (Steve); and many extended family members and friends who were lucky enough to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jaycee; his father, Ronald Knight; his sister, Jacqueline Knight Moffitt; his brother, Brett Knight; and many beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Mike’s unexpected passing leaves an enormous hole in the lives of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his laughter, his generosity, his positive spirit, his willingness to help, and the way he made every person around him feel loved.
A small graveside service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem City Cemetery, directed by Walker Funeral Home of Spanish Fork.
In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to reach out to someone you love. Call them. Spend time with them. Laugh together. Make the most of the time you have.
Exactly how Mike would have.

September 8, 2026 at 8:36 pmDear Susan and family, I have so many memories of Mike, most the time following him to class, telling him he could do anything, laughing at his crazy humor, chatting about life and his future. After he graduated and I would run into him I realized he would be my friend for life. I am sad he is gone, especially for Susan and his kids. But I am grateful for knowing him and pray he will always be a great memory.❤️🙏🏻❤️
