With great sorrow, we announce the death of Michael Nathan Beckstrom born June 9, 1972, and returned home on the evening of June 12, 2025. He passed away suddenly at his home in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Michael’s parents are Shirl and Christine Beckstrom. Michael was the oldest of 5 kids. He is preceded in death by many amazing friends and family including his father Shirl Beckstrom, his sister Megan Beckstrom and his uncle and best friend, Kevin Donahue, to name a few.
After graduating form Orem High, life took Michael to Arkansas where he furthered his education while working at Walmart where he met and married the love of his life Maureen Seward. They moved to Chicago where Michael made many lifelong friends and had a very sucessful career with Fed Ex. Michael returned home to Utah to work with family at Donahue Welding where he loyally and passionately spent the next 20 years of his life working alongside his uncle. He was forever grateful for the time he got to spend with his father before he passed in 2007. Together they enjoyed duck hunting and swap meets and never missed an opportunity to have lunch at Taco Amigo. Michael enjoyed how work greatly and took such pride in the beautiful houses he helped build.
Michael was incredibly family oriented. He was an amazing son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. But one of the most important roles Michael played was that of Uncle. He loved his nieces and nephews with his whole heart. He spoiled them and was always willing to go without so they never had to. He was always a strong shoulder to lean on and was able to give the best advice, no matter the situation. He didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear, but what you needed to hear. All while making you feel validated, unjudged, and heard. He was honest to a fault. He kept his nieces in line to be respectful, hard working and to take education serious. Michael played an active roll in his nieces lives. He listened about all the lunch room drama and kept up with all the newest Youtubers. He would be getting his hair braided by Mckynlee while Morgan taught him how to use his phone. He was a ‘girls uncle’ no doubt.
Michael lived most days in pain from many, many knee surgeries he had to endure. But he never let that stop him from going to work and showing up for the people who counted on him. Michael’s life was forever changed on November 6, 2024, when he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. The stroke affected his entire left side of his body. Through his stubbornness, hard work and the aid of a walker, he was able to walk again. He spent many weeks in the hospital enduring hours of physical therapy a day. A life that was already difficult due to health issues, became near impossible. Michael was left unable to do the most basic of tasks on his own. He was depended on his walker completely. Not being able to work anymore had taken its toll on him. He missed it terribly and missed being at the shop where he felt so close to his uncle Kevin.
Michael was a truly amazing man and will be forever missed. He is survived by his mother, Christine, his sisters, Breeanna and Angie Beckstrom, brother Shad Beckstrom, brother-in-laws Robert Millar and Nicholas Linarte, and many nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A GoFundMe is set up in his name to help with final expenses.
“Michael, your loss is unbearable. You will be forever loved and in our hearts. Love me.”

June 30, 2025 at 7:25 pmMy deepest sympathy to the family in the passing of Mike he was truly a great guy to be around. God’s blessings to the family as you grieve.
Many years ago, I had the great pleasure of working with Mike at FedEx “OBK” Northbrook. He was always kind, had a wonderful dry humor and was always willing to chat. Mike was so proud of his family and always spoke very highly of them.
It was an honor to have him as one of my managers at FedEx.
Rest in eternal Peace Mike, free of pain.
