Our mother, grandmother and friend, Lillie Maxine Ungricht Carter Arnold passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026. She was born January 17, 1937, in Castle Gate, Utah to John William Ungricht and Dycie Elder. She attended schools in Carbon and Utah Counties. She married Ellis Dean Carter on November 14, 1953, in Payson, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo, Utah LDS temple. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurse’s aide at Payson Hospital and worked at various stores in Payson. She loved painting ceramics, making beaded jewelry, and visiting with family and friends.
After Dean’s passing in 1992, she married Loren Ted Arnold and lived in Payson, Nephi, Hurricane and spent winters in Arizona. Loren passed away in 2008.
She is survived by her five children, Lonna (Tom) Hurst, Debbie (Kelly) Dockstader, Mike Carter, Patty (Cory) Jensen, Terri Carter, 16 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a sister, Carol Partridge. She was preceded in death by her husbands, 2 grandsons and 6 brothers.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in many different callings.
The family would like to thank everyone at Seasons of Santaquin Assisted Living and iCare Home Health and Hospice for all of their love and care for our mother.
Viewings will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson. Interment will be at Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.
