It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Max Lynn Page (72). He died peacefully in his home in Reno, Nevada on February 6, 2022.
Max Lynn Page was born November 18, 1949 in Payson, Utah to Lynn Earl Page and Verdene Ellsworth Page. He played football at Brigham Young University and graduated with a Masters in Public Administration in 1975.
Max started his gaming career with Summa Corporation in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1975. A year later, he moved to Reno and was named the personnel manager for Harold’s Club. In 1985, Max, along with partners, formed the Lincoln Management Group and purchased the Fitzgerald’s Hotel and Casino and other properties. Max went on to shape gaming in Nevada by placing people first.
He married Sandra Bettencourt on December 20, 1992. She was the love of his life and best friend. Max loved his family and golf, in that order. Max was a golf fanatic! Sandy and he traveled the world to play golf. Their favorite course to play was Old Head Golf Links, Cork County, Ireland.
Max loved Reno and worked tirelessly to strengthen the community. He provided leadership to the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration, Hot August Nights, Downtown Improvement and Revitalization, Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, and more.

February 12, 2022 at 6:50 pmThe coolest guy I ever met! I remember you always taking the time to talk with me when I was a kid – even though I always saw you as a superstar, you had a way of making everyone else feel important. I look forward to seeing you again if I’m found worthy. Friends are forever, thank you for being mine!

February 19, 2022 at 4:58 amMax was truly one of the good ones. He’d give the shirt off of his back to you, he’d do anything he could to help you as a gentleman. I’ll always remember the rounds we played together. Sandy, I’m so sad for your loss. I saw a picture of Max and my Father playing on the Payson course. He too thought the world of Max. I’ve got to wonder if they’re not up there playing a heavenly course right now.

February 20, 2022 at 5:02 amSandy, we wanted to let you know how sorry we were to hear of your loss. Max was a special family friend for years. My Dad, enjoyed golf, a lunch out, and a good visit with Max. We all looked forward to visits when he was in town. Max’s parents were frequent visitors to our home when I was growing up, such good people.
We hope you will have peace and sweet memories of Max through the coming weeks.
