Max J. Cameron February 25, 1948 - June 3, 2026

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Max J. Cameron on June 3, 2026. Born on February 25, 1958, in Payson, Utah, Max lived a life that was as grounded and steadfast as the mountains surrounding his hometown. This humble man, who could make everyone laugh with his funny anecdotes about his days as a backhoe operator for Payson City water department, and was always the first to lend a helping hand or a supportive word to those in need. His dedication to his work was evident in his 34-year tenure with the city water department.

Max was a man of simple pleasures. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed his time on the golf course with friends. His competitive spirit was always tempered by his humorous nature; he could lighten any atmosphere with his quick wit and easy-going demeanor. Above all else, Max cherished his family. He married Kimberly Cook on June 23, 1979, in Payson, Utah. His love for his wife, Kimberly, and his children, Camille Smith, Tyler Cameron, and Kirsten Quigley was the cornerstone of his life. He was also a member of the Latter-Day Saints, finding solace and guidance in his faith.

Max enjoyed a fulfilling life, but he was predeceased by several loved ones. His parents, Jay Cameron and Melba Rose, his beloved daughter Kirsten Quigley, and his sisters, Vickie, Carrie, Julie, and Kathie, welcomed him on the other side. As we remember Max’s life and the joy he brought to ours, let us take comfort in the words from the Book of Mormon: “Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you.”

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Payson City Cemetery located at 400 North 800 East in Payson, Utah.
