Maurine B. Pulley March 27, 1927 - April 7, 2021

Maurine Brereton Pulley, 94, graduated from this life on the morning of April 7, 2021.  She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Vern; as well as two children, Anita and Thyrol.

Maurine was born March 27, 1927, to Morris Austin and Opal Lillian Hansen Brereton, in the old farmhouse of her grandparents. Maurine was the oldest of eight children.  She grew up in Edgemont with her brothers and sisters: Garn, Glade, Grant, Ronald, Norman, Karen and Sherilyn.  She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945.

Maurine was a beautiful woman who stole the heart of a handsome American Fork gentleman, Vern Pulley.  They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple, November 5, 1947.   They lived a happy life together and had four children.

Maurine was talented in many ways.  She had a beautiful singing voice and was an exceptional cook.  She found joy in making many porcelain dolls.  She enjoyed reading and listening to music. She was a classy lady who had a good taste of style.

Maurine loved her heritage and truly enjoyed being a part of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.  She made cherished friendship with her associations there.

Maurine was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served diligently to fulfill any of her callings; serving over 30 years in the Primary, alone; team-teaching Sunday School with her husband, visiting teaching, serving in the Temple, and she was a faithful missionary in the Missionary Training Center. Maurine had a deep testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and she exemplified that by helping the people around her feel loved and important. She had a love for everyone!

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Marilyn (Val) Cope, and Sandra (Terry) Bastian; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren with, more great-grandbabies on the way. She is also survived by siblings and in-laws: Garn Brereton, Ronald (Shirley) Brereton, Belva Brereton, and Karen Brereton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Glade Brereton, Grant (Donna) Brereton, Norman Brereton, Sherilyn (Richard) Smith, Karma Brereton, and one great-grandson, Daniel Cope.

What an elegant and loving lady was our Sister Pulley! A welcoming love and light emanated from her whenever I had the privilege of being with or near her. Our lives were continually blessed by her presence, and made sweeter because of her. Who didn’t love Sister Pulley? We all did, and when someone so good passes from this life, there is a loss for those left behind. God bless and comfort her family and the many who loved her.

It was a surprise to hear of her passing. she never looked her age. i loved to visit her with Wilma Riddle and Sherry Norris but with the Covid, I hadnt seen her for a while. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Always happy and positive. She missed her Vern so much so i am happy for her today to be reunited with him. I was blessed to be her visiting teacher and have a special friendship with her.
