Our dearest, spunky, mother, grandma, great grandma and great, great grandma, Marylou Peterson Housekeeper passed away February 18, 2024 at the age of 86, surrounded by loving family.
She was born June 17, 1937, in Garfield, Salt Lake County, Utah to Stanley Theodore and Minnie Iretta Johnson Peterson. She was the youngest of seven children, and as she would say, “the favorite.” She is the last of her family to return home, so no one could argue with that statement.
She married John Claren Housekeeper, Sr. on May 3,1958 in Elko, NV. They shared 56 wonderful years together before Claren’s passing. They raised their family in Orem, Utah. Her family was everything to her.
Mom had a tender heart and dearly loved everyone she knew. She had a special talent for making you feel special and oh, she was the best hugger! She literally hugged everyone! No one escaped without a hug!
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities. She dearly loved her Savior and exemplified him by her unconditional love and service.
She is survived by her daughters Nyla Willoughby, Cindy (Allen) Stewart, sons JC (Julie) Housekeeper and Jeff Housekeeper, her proud legacy of 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great, great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Claren, parents Stan and Minnie, and siblings, Betty, Keith, Iretta, Bonnie, Gary, and Larry.
We, as a family, wish to thank Richard Porter and his staff at Seasons of Santaquin for their tender care of her during her residency there. She truly loved them all as if they were her family. We also wish to thank Symbii Hospice Care for making her last moments comfortable.
A viewing will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, UT on Friday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Salem City Cemetery, 965 S 140 East, Salem, UT.

February 22, 2024 at 11:59 pmShe was a special person as well as a wounder Aunt.
I have so many memories of her and Claren, and our fun Housekeeper thanksgiving parties, at the Provo Boat Harbor, Lindon park etc. She was always the life of the party. She helped me to feel better about myself wherever we were. Of course the hugs, we all will miss it. We have lost the last two ladies of our greatest generation, Ruby and now Marylou. We need to be an example of her and love everybody. RIP
