Mary SuzAnne Christensen Fullmer 1934 ~ 2025

SuzAnne (Sue) Fullmer, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Provo, Utah, of conditions incident to age, at the age of 91. She was born February 13, 1934, in Spanish Fork, Utah, the daughter of J. Angus and Delia Christensen. She was the second of three children (Milton Christensen and Doug Christensen).

During SuzAnne’s school days, she studied piano, organ, and violin. She played violin locally, and organ in church services. While in high school, she participated in Pep Team for two years, Type Team for one year, and was a member of the Sapere Aude Club (Latin for “Dare to Know”) scholastic club. After high school, she attended St. Mark’s Nursing School in Salt Lake City, graduating in 1955. She worked as a nurse from 1955 – 1957 at St. Mark’s Hospital and the Veteran’s hospital, both in Salt Lake City. Her nursing helped support her young husband Merlin in finishing his engineering degrees.

SuzAnne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married Merlin Don Fullmer, of Spanish Fork, Utah, on September 8, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. Early in their marriage, they lived in Salt Lake City and the Los Angeles area, and later moved to San Jose, California, where Merlin worked as an aerospace engineer. She was a homemaker and encouraged her children in their education, music studies, scouting, and teenage employment. In the 1980s, she supported Merlin in his own company, which dealt with educational computer programming development.

During retirement in Northern California, they moved to the Prunedale, California area, where Merlin and SuzAnne loved dining, and visiting the ocean front, shops, and the aquarium in the Monterey Bay area. Both their San Jose and Prunedale homes were places of family gathering and many happy memories for their children, grandchildren, and friends.

SuzAnne was preceded in death by her parents, J. Angus and Delia Christensen, her husband Merlin Fullmer, one brother, one grandson, and one great grandson. She is survived by her three children: Lorraine (Steve) Collard of Utah, David (Tiare) Fullmer of Indiana and Boyd (Becky) Fullmer of Utah; eleven grandsons; three granddaughters; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one brother.

I miss Suzanne’s monthly visits with Merlin—our lunches together were always filled with thoughtful conversation, especially about the family she loved so dearly. Suzanne brought such grace and warmth into every room, always exquisitely groomed and genuinely present. Her friendship was a gift, and I cherish the memory of our time together. My heart goes out to her entire family.
