Mary Arlene Mann July 11, 1931 - September 9, 2024

Mary Arlene Mann, age 93, passed away on September 9th, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Arlene was born July 11, 1931, to Jay Paul Jones and Jessie Lucile Nielsen in Spanish Fork, Utah and was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1949 and loved performing in both high school and church plays. In addition, and as recognition of her pleasant personality, kindness and ever-present beauty, she was crowned FFA Queen in her senior year of High School.

On February 2, 1951, Arlene married Jud Mann in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and thereafter had three children, Valerie, Gregory and Natalie. She held numerous callings in her church Ward and loved serving various capacities and positions.

Arlene knew the value of hard work from an early age. As a teenager, she worked in the Del Monte cannery, the local movie theater, and a grocery store. After her marriage, she was employed at a hardware store as well as J.C. Pennys and from 1967 to 1993 she was a secretary at both Orem Jr. and Canyon View Jr. High Schools.

Arlene spent hours gardening in her yard and received accolades from neighbors and recognition from Orem City for “Yard of the month”. Having read well over 1000 books, she was an avid reader and often read the same book repeatedly.

Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, parents and her siblings, Merrill, Becky and Scott.

Arlene will be sorely missed by her surviving sister, Paula Kunze, her three children, her seven grandchildren and her ten great grandchildren.

Per her wishes a private family service will be held at Walker Mortuary and will be followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at the Spanish Fork Cemetery for family and friends.

The family would like to thank the team from Aspen Ridge Home Health and Hospice for their dedication and care of Arlene.
