Our beloved mother, Marlene Boyack Nielsen, passed on Thursday November 30th, 2023, at the age of 89. Mom was born in Spanish Fork on January 12, 1934, to Arthur Wells Boyack and Zenda Draper.
She married Allen Hughes Nielsen on January 15, 1958, they were later sealed in the Draper Utah Temple on June 27, 1986.
Mom grew up in and attended school in Spanish Fork with her brother Ronald whom she loved dearly. She was involved in the Pep Club; she carried this throughout her life being her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. She met her sweetheart Allen; they began their life together in Spanish Fork. While Allen farmed, they also started their family. Mom worked for AT&T, where she enjoyed keeping up with the “party lines,” nothing was a secret when you were a phone operator, back in the 50’s. She spent time in the home until her children were in full time school. She then went to work for Nebo School District at the Spanish Fork Junior High, where she became ‘Mom” to many of the students.
Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, having served in many callings. Mom had a love for music and in the later part of her life she became an accomplished organist.
