Mark Lee Taylor, age 54, of Salem, Utah, unexpectedly passed away but without suffering on December 30, 2025, as Stephanie his devoted wife of 33 years tenderly held his hand.
Born on April 2, 1971, in Mesa, Arizona, he lived a life full of laughter, friendship, and connection. Stephanie was his partner in every adventure, big and small. Together they built a home filled with warmth, shared jokes, and the quiet strength of their love.
Known for his outgoing spirit and quick wit, Mark never met a stranger. He had an extraordinary gift for making people feel seen and valued, whether through a perfectly timed one-liner, a heartfelt story, or simple smile. Friends and family alike will remember gatherings where Mark was at the center—telling stories, teasing gently, and bringing everyone closer together with his lighthearted nature.
Mark was a man of remarkable determination. Once he set his mind to something, nothing could stand in his way—he approached every goal, challenge, and dream with unwavering resolve, unstoppable drive, and a steadfast commitment to seeing it through.
Mark found great joy in adventure and nature’s wonders. An avid scuba diver, archer, and UTV enthusiast, he loved exploring ocean depths, perfecting his aim, and blazing trails in the wild. A passionate defender of constitutional freedoms, he lived with independence, excitement, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
A man of faith, Mark walked closely with his Heavenly Father. He now rests eternally in the loving arms of the Lord he served so faithfully.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie Ann Wynn; his daughter, Chelsea Ann (Taylor) Edwards, and son-in-law, Zach Edwards; his cherished grandchildren, Eli, Jason, Oaklee, and Rosalee; his siblings, Steven Taylor, John Taylor, Joyce Grimes, Craig Taylor, and Jason Taylor; as well as a wide circle of friends who became family over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa Dean Taylor and Linda Joyce Taylor.
Mark’s absence will be deeply felt, but his laughter will echo in our hearts forever. He taught us all how to live fully surrounded by people we love, with a smile on our face, and a good story ready to share.
A visitation will be held for Mark on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the Salem West Stake LDS church, 695 South 300 West, Salem, Utah 84653 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Salem City Cemetery, 965 South 140 East, Salem, Utah 84653.

January 9, 2026 at 12:37 amStephanie – We are sending huge, Texas-sized hugs to you!!
Together, you and Mark were the ideal the dinner party hosts—excellent recipes and even better conversations! Your volunteer work together teaching/feeding youth for mission prep was a labor of love and we loved hearing Mark talk about it!
When I met Mark at a work training in 2014, he completely schooled me in a role play while the owner of our company looked on. I had no idea that day what a dear friend he would become.
Ever the consummate listener, Mark loved learning and studied to hone his craft.
From Mark, I learned the art of sous vide and so much more! Mark loved his family, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, freedom, asking just the right questions, coordinating scuba diving adventures, the 2nd Amendment, speaking his mind and being a carnivore.
Praying peace over your hearts today and for all the coming days. Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

January 16, 2026 at 5:23 pmSending condolences to family and friends. I met Mark in November of 2016. He was a great colleague and champion for Social Studies. I loved his visits to Georgia. I was guaranteed a meal, a wild story, and some sage advice. It is hard to imagine a world without him in it. Fly high, Mark. You will be missed.

January 16, 2026 at 8:47 pmStephanie–I am so so sorry for your loss.
I wanted to share a favorite memory. My older son, Spencer, came home from his first missionary prep session at your home. He walked in the door and said, “Man, that guy is so cool. He’s not just teaching us missionary skills. He’s teaching us life skills!” He went on for about 10 minutes talking about all the cool things that were taught and what a “cool” guy Mark was.
Although I know his presence and influence will be greatly missed here on earth, Mark will continue to use those “life” skills in the next existence. Just thinking about him there–man, he will be a formidable, irresistible missionary in the spirit kingdom! There will be all kinds of spirits coming away from interactions with him saying, “Man, what a cool guy!”
Sending love always.
