She passed peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren in the home she loved.
Marian grew up in Lake Shore, UT helping her father Lawrence Tuckett around the farm. The work ethic and faith-based character she developed was exemplary to thousands both in her family and friendship circles. She was a 4H champion as a child. She learned to love scouting while helping her father with his church callings in the church with the young men. She was the righteous example to 5 younger siblings. She attended BYU on academic scholarship. She remained an avid BYU sports fan her entire life – Go Cougars!
She married Ronald Quist Astle on June 23, 1960 in the Salt Lake City Latter-day Saint temple. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life. Marian and Ron Astle raised their family in Buena Park and La Palma California. The Astle family, with the nurturing and tutelage of Marian, made a big impact in their schools, sport teams, performance stages, church congregations and the community at large.
