In Loving Memory

Maria Dolores Garcia

April 29, 1942 ~ September 15, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, known as Dolores (Lola) Garcia, who entered eternal rest with our beloved Father in Heaven. Her mother, who passed away approximately three months after her birth, was waiting there with open arms. Mom was an angel amongst us and now will be an angel above watching over us throughout our lives.

With traditional Mexican family values, she was raised by two families who loved her. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Franciso and Epimenia (Lopez) Rojas and later adopted by the George Reyes and Encarnacion (Villareal) Florez family where she was blessedly taught faith, love, and hard work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose A. Garcia, many siblings, and other relatives. She was the cornerstone of our family—a devoted mother to two sons, William Scott (Charlotte), and Jeffrey Paul (Bonnie), who became the foundation upon which generations of love would flourish. Her nurturing spirit embraced each of her ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. To them, she was not simply a grandmother, but Grandma and Nana— titles that carried within them the unwavering assurance that they were unconditionally loved.

Her faith in God was the guiding light of her beautiful life. As a faithful member of the Catholic Church, she found strength in prayer, comfort in community, and purpose in service to others. Her devotion was not merely spoken but lived through daily acts of kindness and compassion for those in need.

Her hugs were healing, and her love for her family and friends was absolute. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find solace in knowing that her legacy lives on through her love for us. The values she instilled, the kindness she showed, the grace she demonstrated, the love she freely gave, and the faith she so beautifully exercised continue to guide and inspire all whose lives she touched.

Mom has now joined the communion of saints, reunited with those who went before her, and is watching over the wonderful family she helped create. While we will miss her earthly presence immeasurably, we celebrate a life that was truly a gift to all who knew her.

Her memory will forever be a blessing, and her love will continue to bind our family together across all generations to come.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… Enter thou into the joy of the Lord.”  ~Matthew 25:21
