1939 – 2013 Malcolm Parrott, a true gentleman, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 from natural causes after a life filled with hard work, a love of sports, and great love and dedication to his family. He was a quiet giant that touched the lives of so many people with his radiant smile that invited those around him to join in his good humor, great sports stories, extensive book reviews, love of history and his country, his knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and his beautiful and insightful pearls of great price.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his dad, William “Mac” Malcolm Parrott; his mom, Esther Matilda Appl; and his daughter, Natalie Catherine Parrott Carlson (Steve). He is survived by his wife Linda Parrott lovingly referred to as “Mrs. P”; and his daughters, Leslie Parrott, Christine Parrott Musick (Chris) and Nicole Parrott Norris (Jake) to whom he is sealed for time and all eternity; his sons-in law Chris and Jake whom he loved so much as the sons he never had; his nine grandchildren, Michelle Parrott; Danielle, Joshua, Zachary and Noelle Musick; and Ashley, Aaron, Brandon and Beckham Norris; his great friends; and his Mako Surgical family.
He will be remembered for his firm handshake, perfect hugs, endless compliments, witty humor, his ability to analyze, play and share the sports of football, baseball and basketball that he loved so much, the sweet songs he would sing and his love of music, always having a great attitude and philosophy, sacrifice for his family, and deep and abiding faith. He was truly an honorable man with a tender heart, a great coach and athlete, he loved the gym and lived by his workouts, a real numbers genius, “master of logistics”, faithful servant, loving grandpa, devoted husband, the best father his daughters could ever ask for, and a true one-of-a-kind. We love you dad. He has ridden off into the sunset that he loved so much.
