February 20, 2024 at 7:24 pmMac and Gay have been dear friends for over forty years! We have made many memorable and fun memories together. Mac was a soft spoken- giant of a man. He had a heart bigger than all outdoors. His health didn’t stop him from serving and caring for others. He will be missed..

February 21, 2024 at 6:17 amMac L Carter a real Giant of a man. We have known Mac for about 45 years when I first came to work at DCFS in Provo. Mac was an instant friend we had a chance to work with youth, children and families having many great opportunities to help others. Mac was always loved by others especially his co-workers they all thought the world of him. Mac and I loved to tease each other and one incident when I jumped up and hit the ceiling and put a dent in the ceiling in the basement of the old office building in Provo was something he would always tease me about. I was able to go fishing a few times with Mac and the gang and though not a hunter even did some pheasant hunting at Clair’s property Mac couldn’t see well but he was better than I was. There were times when Clair and I would take Mac in our golf cart when we went golfing, we all enjoyed that. Working to help Mac on some projects in his basement was a story for another time, but he came over to my house and helped complete some projects always one to reach out and help. After I left DCFS to work at the USH we still kept in regular contact and for years we often went to lunch monthly with our group and Gay, Mac, Clair and Marsha, Lynn and Sharon, my wife Christie and I and on and off other friends enjoyed going to several different places especially Chuck-A-Rama. Those were special times I will always treasure. Mac was always facing serious health challenges and we witnessed many miraculous moments when he would bounce back when a lesser man wouldn’t. Even toward the end we thought he would surprise us and turn things around. He was a good and faithful member of the LDS church and loved to hear his stories about his mission to Finland. So many many great stories he loved his wife , children, grand children and all of his family Christie and I were very blessed to know Mac and he was truly a special man and if anyone makes it to heaven it will have to be Mac Carter. Thanks Mac you made things so much better for us. Wish the best for Gay and the kids during this very tender time. and now is the time to enjoy the return of your hearing, sight and being able to walk. Thanks Mac for everything . Dick and Christie
