Lynn Alfred Baadsgaard, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. He was born on August 13, 1946, in Lake Shore, Utah, to Alfred Beck Baadsgaard and Lola Clayson Baadsgaard.
Lynn was raised in the close-knit farming community of Lake Shore, where he developed a lifelong love for the land, hard work, and simple living. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1964 and enjoyed playing football during his high school years.
Following high school, Lynn faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States. Upon returning home, he pursued his education at Utah State University, where he earned a teaching degree in Vocational Agriculture.
A true cowboy and farmer at heart, Lynn found his greatest joy working the land and spending time with his family. Farming was not just a hobby, but a way of life that shaped who he was. He spent nearly his entire life living in Benjamin, Utah, where he was well known and respected, before recently moving to Spanish Fork.
On July 14, 1972, Lynn married Rachel Moon in the Provo Utah LDS Temple. Together they built a loving home and raised three children: Jed, Lesa, and Chad. Lynn dedicated his professional life to education, teaching at Wasatch High School and Springville High School, and later instructing welding at UVSC. He was dedicated to teaching practical skills that students could use beyond the classroom.
Rachel preceded him in death on June 18, 2001. Lynn later found companionship and love again and was sealed to LaJeanne Walker on October 11, 2002, in the Provo Utah LDS Temple.
Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, LaJeanne Baadsgaard; his children Jed (Nalani) Baadsgaard, Lesa (Brady) Lynn, and Chad (Marie) Baadsgaard; and his stepchildren Ryan Partridge, Shalyn (Bob) Murdoch, Ashlee Sparrow, Karlee (Tyson) Barlow, and Brett Partridge. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, who were a great joy in his life.
He is further survived by his siblings Cleo (Bill) Ostler, Ina Lee (Gerry) Tedrow, Glen (Patty) Baadsgaard, Kevin (Jenny) Baadsgaard, Lloyd (Betty) Baadsgaard, and Lauri Madsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Rachel Moon Baadsgaard and his sister Beverly Lewis.
Lynn will be remembered as a hardworking farmer, a devoted teacher, a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His steady example, strong work ethic, and quiet kindness will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Benjamin Church, located at 3238 West 7200 South, Benjamin, Utah.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah, and again on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

December 18, 2025 at 5:29 pmI met Lynn when he taught at UVU. As a new teacher, I appreciated his kindness and willingness to help a new welding teacher. After he retired, whenever I ran into him, he was so nice to share a few moments to visit. He will be missed!
