Lynda Kay Mikesell Wright, 79, of Elkridge, Utah, passed away on September 11, 2025.
Lynda was born on January 16, 1946, to Mariam Taylor and Stapley Junior Mikesell in Spanish Fork, Utah. She grew up enjoying the outdoors and loved swimming, running, and fishing in Spring Lake. Lynda attended Payson High School and graduated in 1964.
After graduating, Lynda married Larry Wilford Wright on July 9th, 1965, in Springville, which was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. They loved and cherished each other for over 60 years. Together, they had 4 children, 22 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren (2 more expected).
Lynda loved and was loved by her family and friends for her spunky sense of humor. She loved to tease and to laugh. She had a gracious heart and was always selfless and willing to give what she had. Lynda served faithfully in both her church and community throughout her life. She collected large amounts of supplies for those in need, opened her home to others, and absolutely loved serving as a ministering sister. She spoiled everyone, especially those lucky enough to call her grandma. She had many talents. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, decorator, and hostess. Her parties were always the best. She had a gift for family history and filled her home with stories, which she passed on to her children. Even the family pets knew how lucky they were to be around her. They would get so excited to see her, knowing they would get loved, like the rest of us. We are so grateful for the legacy left by our dear wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed.
Lynda is survived by her husband Larry Wright, her children Angelene Wright (Dennis) Gooch, Heather Wright (Steve) Wallentine, Larry David “L.D.” (Jeanean) Wright, Gavin (Dani) Wright, her grandchildren Alexandrea (Ben) Cook, Victoria (Brandon) Hart, Dallin (Lindsay) Gooch, Taylor (Faith) Gooch, Hunter (Rachel) Gooch, Gordon Wallentine, Jaisha Wallentine, Dustin Wallentine, Kiki Wallentine, Devan Wallentine, Paige (Zach) Strong, Spencer Wright, Aksel Wright, Maisey Wright, Megan Wright, Colby Wright, Levi Wright, Briggs Wright, Caden Wright, Jossie Wright, Ava Wright, Myra Wright, her great-grandchildren Jackson Cook, Chloe Cook, Thomas Hart, Timothy Hart, Theodore Hart, Emmaline Hart, Daphnie Gooch, Graham Gooch, Navy Gooch, Everlee Gooch, her Brothers and Sisters Sharon (Lynn) Jacobson, Dale (Brenda) Mikesell, Stanley (Sharee) Mikesell, Kim (Cindy) Mikesell. She was preceded in death by her parents Stapley Mikesell Jr., Mariam Taylor Mikesell, her brothers Larry Mikesell, Burt (Luanne) Mikesell.
The Viewing will be held from 10 to11 am at the Elk Ridge 5th Ward Meeting house followed by services from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., located at 450 Elk Ridge Drive, Elk Ridge Utah, 84651
