Louise Olivia Nelson Parry, age 69, passed away March 23,2021 at home in Mapleton, Utah. Louise was born July 4, 1951 in Powell, Wyoming to William James Nelson and Jean H. Syndergaard. She didn’t know that parades and fireworks were not because she was having a birthday until she went to school. She was named Louise after her Aunt Lottie Louise, and Olivia, after her grandfather, Oliver Nelson. Her mother once read the meaning of the name is “defender of peace”. She lived up to her name. She was the middle child of seven, four girls and three boys.
Because of her father’s work the family moved every year to another town and another school. She loved the adventure and wasn’t afraid of making new friends in new places.
She met Randy Parry from Mapleton in February 1968, and they were married in her parents’ home ln Provo, Utah on January 18, 1969. The same year their home was blessed by a tiny infant girl Meleena Louise, who could only stay a short time. In 1976 they were blessed to add Kimberly Yun, born in Korea, to their home. Louise, still dealing with the loss of Meleena was devastated when their second child, Kimberly, passed away in January 1977. Kara Cho was born a month later, in Seoul, Korea, and fast-tracked home to Mapleton by June. The family was sealed together in the Provo, Temple.
Louise attended Utah Trade and Technical College (UVU) and received her L.P.N. Certification and went to work for Dr. Brockbank and Dr. Frampton in Spanish Fork, Utah. Louise treated and cared for her patients like family. She celebrated their happy moments and mourned their sorrows. She saw many patients from the time they were born, through their school years to adulthood and then served as their children’s nurse.
The last few years of her life, she had medical issues of her own. On the nights she couldn’t sleep she spent time on her computer. She learned about the world and geography, and gemstones. She learned where gemstones were mined and could identify where they were from by country, how rare they were and the history of the stones.
Louise knew much about her genealogy and wanted us to know who we were too. She had unconditional love for us all. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, her angel daughters, her parents and parents-in-law, John Ray and Dorothy Swasy Parry.
She is survived by daughter Kara and son in-law Andrew Woodworth; grandchildren: Briley, Parker, and Kaden. She is also survived by her siblings: Billie Jean (Larry) Calder, Patricia (Ronald) Burr, William James (Michelle) Nelson, John (Rose) Nelson, Debra (Michael) Adams, and David Nelson.
Visitation will be April 1 at Walker Funeral Home from 6-8 pm located at 187 South Main Street Spanish Fork UT, and April 2 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the white church located at 31 W Maple Street Mapleton Utah. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in the Mapleton Cemetery, 620 West Maple Street.
Current COVID guidelines will be followed

March 29, 2021 at 4:09 pmLouise was the absolute best! I am one of the “kids” that she was there for from birth to my own kids. She NEVER forgot who you were. There was nothing but the best hugs and support from her. She was an excellent nurse, her shots never hurt, and the best of friends. I will miss her! Love to you all…
