Lori was born Jan 8th 1960 to Fay Keith and Yvonne Sharee Smith in Provo, Utah.
She attended Orem High School and later received certificates in medical transcribing. She met the love of her life, Myron Adams, in August of 1978 and they wed June 29th, 1979. Together they raised 4 children Damon, Cheyanne, Dallas, and Cami Jo.
Lori’s family meant the world to her. She gave them everything and was considered the glue that bonded them. Lori had a wisdom and generosity of spirit that served as a beacon for all who knew her. Everyone knew if you wanted truth and honesty served with sweetness and love, Lori was the person you went looking for.
The love between Lori and Myron is the stuff of legends. Lori always said Myron was the best thing in her life and that she was the luckiest woman to have gotten to spend her life with him. When Myron was asked to describe what made him fall in love with Lori his response was “her compassion is what I noticed. She was beautiful. I always called her one hot mama. She was the best part of our team. A firecracker. She was my world. My everything.” One of the Chaplin’s visiting Lori’s bedside at the hospital said that she had never seen a greater love than what she had witnessed between Myron and Lori. Everyone who was lucky enough to know them knows the truth of those words.
Lori’s children described their mom using words like giving, loving, sassy, caring, sweet, adventurous, selfless, brave, and strong. Their own generosity and kindness to others is a tribute to the caring and magnificent woman they were blessed to be able to call mom. Her spontaneity always made her kids laugh and they giggled as they remembered that. “If you wanted to do something fun like fishing, camping, Christmas tree hunting, etc., we always knew to ask mom. We knew she would be able to talk dad into doing it.” Even her children’s spouses recalled her impulsiveness with a smile.
Lori’s most cherished memories were all about her family; the marriage of her kids, the birth of her grandchildren, seeing her first great grandbaby born, all of the grand (and small) adventures they had together. Lori loved the outdoors, camping, horseback riding and well the reality was, she was always up for anything as long as it was outside, fun and involved those she loved. Each moment of importance was held in Lori’s heart and surrounded by the pure and beautiful joy in her soul.
Lori and Myron were foster parents for several years and because of that, affected many lives in such a positive way with their selfless service. There were no better people to open their homes to kids struggling with life and offer them a safe and reliable place of rest filled with love and acceptance without judgement. They added many members to their family throughout those years.
To know Lori was to love her instantly and completely. She was not the kind of person you meet and forgot. She was memorable and remains the dearest of friends to each person she connected with.
Lori was survived by her truest love Myron Kay Adams, her children Damon (Mindy) Adams, Cheyanne (Gregg) Sullivan, Dallas (Corey) Todd, Cami Jo (Clancy) Riding and her puppies Scooter and Cooper. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and her first great grandson born 1 month before her passing. Her siblings; Cynthia Smith, Terry (Becky) Smith, Steven (Suzette) Smith, Kevin (Judy) Smith.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents, 1 angel baby, 6 angel grandbabies
