Linnie Faith Mangelson LIVESTREAM

On November 26, 2023, Linnie Faith Mangelson, 8 years old, passed away peacefully in her parents’ arms at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah.

Linnie was born on April 27, 2015, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to her parents, Kaytlin Joy Howard and Joshua Gary Mangelson. She spent almost the first year of her life in C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital battling multiple serious birth defects. Over her lifetime, she went through dozens of surgeries and procedures. Every infection she conquered, every milestone she reached was a medical miracle and a testament to her determination and stubbornness. It was through that toughness of spirit she beat all the odds against her.

Linnie’s bright smile and personality brought so much joy to her family, friends, and all the medical personnel she knew throughout her life. She loved her siblings, her extended family, Moana, music, and the color purple. She loved to ride the bus to school and delighted in making people laugh. Her happy demeanor, charming smile, wicked sense of humor, and joyful spirit delighted every person she came into contact with.

Linnie is survived by her parents; her siblings: Andelynn Joy (9), Isla Hope (6), and Nolan Wilde (3); and her grandparents, Mary and Allan Howard, and Sue and Gary Mangelson, along with 22 aunts and uncles and 46 first cousins. She is preceded in death by her infant cousin Paxton.

A viewing will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 310 East Center Street, Spanish Fork, UT on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Services will be at 11:00 am. Linnie will be laid to rest in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.

It was a privilege and pleasure to know Linnie. She is a ray of sunshine with a strong, kind, and fun personality. I loved singing Moana and Maui songs with her. I loved when she whispered yessss to us at school when we asked if she’d like to sing or read a book. I’m so thankful to have had the chance to work with her as she has a beautiful peace around her. Our condolences to you and all who knew her.

Linnie was a beautiful angel on Earth. She smiled and giggled with pure happiness every time I saw her. She was a beloved student to all of us. Thank you for sharing her pure joy and goodness with all of us here at her school. I am so sorry for your loss, Linnie will be missed.

I had the privilege and joy of getting to know Linnie on the school bus during the time of Covid. School staff were needed to fill in as aides on the bus, and I was lucky enough to be assigned to Linnie’s. Every day I was greeted with one of her beautiful, beaming smiles and enjoyed our sweet, whispered conversations. Linnie always left me with a smile and a “bye” that brightened the rest of my day. Although our time together was short, Linnie’s impact on my life was profound and she will live on in my heart forever.
