Linda Jane Morrey was born June 1947, in California to Iole Pelligrini and Salvador Espinoza. The oldest of four children. Her early childhood was filled with her father’s family, living in what they called, “The Big House”. Linda lived in California until she met her husband, Edwin Morrey Sr. They were married on August 26, 1967, in Los Angeles, California. Shortly after their marriage, Linda and Edwin moved to Spanish Fork, Utah in 1968, where they lived the remainder of their lives. They had three children together: Lisa, Edwin Jr. (Ted), and Yolette.
In 1968, Linda became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Nine years into their marriage, Edwin died in a car accident, Linda never remarried. She raised and provided for her family by working at the Bureau of Reclamation in Provo, Utah caring for her children, Ted and Yolette. Linda moved in with her daughter Yolette, Reed, and their six children. She was a wonderful addition to their family dynamic and had a profound impact on her grandchildren’s lives. She died peacefully at home on October 21, 2023, at the age of 76.
Linda was a wonderful strong headed woman who deeply cared and dedicated her life to caring for her family and loved ones. She served in the Primary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Beyond her work at the Bureau of Reclamation, she also did tax preparation work for more than 30 years. She would scour and study the tax manuals and updates each year preparing for the next tax season.
Linda is greatly missed by her children, siblings, grandchildren, and friends. She is preceded in death by Iole and Salvador (parents), Lisa (daughter), Edwin (husband), and Pat (sister). She leaves behind her two children: Ted and Yolette (Reed), her siblings: Claudia (sister), and Tim (brother), nine grandchildren: Emma (Tyler), Abbey, Sarah, Anna, Matthew, Seth, Craig, Tallon (Chenoa), and Shayne, and two great-grandchildren.
