Linda Kathleen Long May 17, 1948 - August 26, 2021

Linda Kathleen Long, 73, passed away on August 26, 2021, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Linda was born Linda Kathleen Brady on May 17, 1948, in Modesto, CA, daughter of Charles and Maxine Brady, and sister to Chele. Linda graduated Lancaster High School in 1966.

It was at Lancaster High that she met the love of her life, Jimmie Long. Jimmie and Linda were married on December 22, 1966. They moved to Denver, Colorado, after getting married. Once in Colorado, Jimmie joined the Air Force and they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. There they had their first son, Timothy, in 1970 and moved to Westchester, California, where they had their second son, Scott, in 1972. In 1974, they moved to Newbury Park, California, where they purchased their first home. They had their first daughter, Sheri, in 1977, and their third son, Bobby, in 1979. They had their second daughter, Stephanie, in 1983. They raised their children in that home until 2006, when they sold their house and bought a home in Eagle Mountain, Utah. In 2017, they moved to Spanish Fork. In 2019, they moved to Salem, where she lived until she passed.

Linda had an overwhelming love for her family, and she especially cherished the moments that she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed musicals, plays, crafts, and decorating for the holidays. She made sure each holiday was special for her family. Though she couldn’t as much as she would have liked, she loved traveling and had the trip of a lifetime when she, Jim, and Bobby visited Europe in 2005.

Linda was a Disney fan and passed the enthusiasm on to her children. Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish the fun they had visiting the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland.  Many fond memories were also created on the yearly camping trips with family and friends.

Linda’s body and health were not able to keep up with her strong spirit in the last few years. She fought hard at the end and was able to hold on long enough so that her husband and all her children could be with her until her very last moment. She was an extremely loved Mother and an even more loved Nana, who will be missed more than words can say.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father, and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmie; her children: Tim (Cathy – Washington), Scott (Utah), Sheri (Trevor – Utah), Bobby (Marek – Prague) and Stephanie (Kyle); her grandchildren, Andrew (Scott), Ryan (Scott), Ellie (Tim), Jace (Sheri), Tyler (Sheri), Jared (Scott), Matthew (Tim), Faith (Scott), Victoria (Tim), Ryder (Steph) and Wyatt (Steph); her sister, Chele; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Cemetery in Salem, Utah.

    Dear Uncle Jim and Cousins,
I wanted to tell you how much I loved Aunt Linda. She was always so thoughtful and steadfast at making others feel loved. She never missed a birthday without a card or a special occasion without a handwritten note!! I loved her radiant smile and happy demeanor. All of our family, which she touched with her kindness, send our love and prayers to all of you. I love you all and my heart is heavy with your loss. Today I am acutely grateful for the knowledge that we all will see each other again one day. Love you
