Linda Jean Boswell Nelson

August 13, 1946 ~ May 29, 2021

Jean Boswell, age 74, of Hurricane, Utah passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 29, 2021.  She was born on August 13, 1946 in Payson, Utah to Ray and Jeniel Boswell.

Although our hearts are broken, we know she is rejoicing with her son and others she loves who went before her.  Jean was a driven woman, never idle and always looked for ways to serve others.  She had a passion for bowling, loved camping, traveling and devoted her time to family and friends.  She retired after 23 years from Nebo School District as a Secretary and enjoyed making a difference for others.  She married Russell Bastian whom she later divorced.  After marrying her current husband, Jeffery Nelson, they relocated from Spanish Fork to Hurricane, Utah.  She will be missed greatly and her memory will be held in the hearts by those she left behind.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Nelson of Hurricane, UT, daughters Anna Bastian of Cedar City, UT, Nicole Chynoweth (Matt) of Spanish Fork, UT, 6 grandchildren (Mercades, Tayden, Kaydence, Ashton Chynoweth & Shayden and Hailey Bastian) and 2 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings Stephen (Verna) Boswell, Ann (Gordon) Kirk, Kelly Boswell and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jared Bastian; her parents and sister, Elaine Boswell.

Visitation for family and friends of Jean will be Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.  After the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. also at the Walker Funeral Home.  Following the service, interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah.

Jean was the secretary at Larsen when my older kids attended there. She was always kind and helpful to me. My daughter severely broke her arm when she was in 6th grade. We had to call an ambulance and Jean was so great and level headed through a traumatic event in our life. Prayers of peace for the family.
