Leslie Gail Jacobson, 70, born September 2nd, 1954, in Mountain Home Idaho entered her eternal resting place on February 26th, 2025, from complications of breast cancer (Paget’s disease). Her wish to pass, in her Mesquite, Nevada home, surrounded by loved ones, was mercifully granted.
Leslie was the beloved daughter of Gary Mayo Sorensen and Joyce Pearl (Mott) Sorensen. Leslie or (Rose) as she was affectionately known by her brothers, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by strength, courage, compassion and love. Her passing has left a huge void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives she touched. We humbly ask that you remember her for the impact she had on so many of those who had the pleasure of knowing her and not for the disease that took her too soon.
Leslie lived in several places throughout her childhood: Montgomery, AL, Las Vegas, NM, El Paso TX, and finally Manti, UT. She graduated from Manti High School in 1973. After graduating she married and welcomed her oldest daughter Tracy, born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Not long after they moved to Hawaii, where she welcomed her second daughter, Tamara, into the world. Shortly thereafter she divorced and returned to the mainland, where she settled in Springville, Utah. There she spent Saturday mornings dancing to music with her girls, instilling countless precious memories. This is also where she met the love of her life on a “blind date”. Leslie and Kirk married a very short 3 weeks later, and moved to Spring Lake, Utah. Together they lovingly raised a blended family.
Leslie worked throughout her whole life, up until cancer gave her no choice but to retire. She held several challenging positions throughout her life but was most passionate about working in the lunchroom at Goshen Elementary School, where she enjoyed working with children. After retirement she was able to go on many adventures with her husband and siblings which she enjoyed immensely. She relished the peaceful (sometimes frustrating) game of golf, with her husband, friends and family. Leslie always made time for anyone in need. Hers was a life of quiet service.
Leslie is survived by her loving husband, Kirk C. Jacobson, of 42 years. Her daughter Tracy Gail Ross (Lorin D. Ross) Sons: Kory Jacobson, Kristopher Jacobson (Sheralee Jacobson) and last but not least son Talin Lee Jacobson. Brothers: Mike (Leona Sorensen) Steven (Anita Sorensen) David (Mindy Sorensen) Bobby (Britnie Sorensen). Sister: Joyce (Anthony Chambers) who devotedly helped in her care. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews who adored her dearly, and a host of cousins who shared in her childhood memories.
Leslie was preceded in death by her daughter Tamara Kay Wasden, son Koby Jacobson, mother Joyce Pearl Sorensen, father Gary Mayo Sorensen, step mother Marie Sorensen and sister Carol Marie Sorensen (Lolly).
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Walker Funeral Home located at 587 South 100 West in Payson, Utah. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Remembering
The beauty of a memory… Is that it’s always there.
Like a penny in your pocket. You can take it anywhere, and when your heart is heavy,
and your eyes are filled with tears,
you can focus on a memory, and travel through the years.
Your heart can visit happy times, when laughter filled the air,
and the presence of my love will lessen your despair.
So, as you travel on in life, take comfort as you go,
in a lifetime of “Sweet Memories” of the one who loved you most.
