Lenore B Nelson, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. What a joyous reunion she had in heaven with her husband Bill.

Lenore married the love of her life, Bill Nelson, on August 23, 1950, in the Logan Temple. They are the parents of five children: two sons and three daughters.

Lenore was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations. She was active in the community, serving alongside Bill in the J C’s and Kiwanis clubs. Lenore enjoyed many years with her friends in the Vestalian Club.

Sewing was her life and quilting was her passion. Our family enjoyed many handmade clothing articles, as well as pieced and hand-quilted quilts. She taught her daughters and many others the art of sewing. Each Monday, for many years, she quilted with her sisters-in-law and friends at the DUP museum. She worked for many years at the Thread Shed, a fabric store on Main Street. She also spent many hours with high school students and elementary children with their reading and study skills.

Lenore was always up for hosting a party whether it was a bridal shower, baby shower, annual family pizza party, or the 24th of July parade and picnic.

Mom and Dad loved to travel. They especially loved going on cruises. They looked forward to the yearly Nelson family vacation and pool party. They also had fun traveling with Bill’s family.

Mom’s greatest joy was her family, she loved having them in her home. She was supportive of and attended many activities they participated in.

She is survived by her children: Susan and Byron Woodland, Bill and Nancy Nelson, Karen and Chris Shepherd, Ann and Bret VanAusdal, Dave and Jane Nelson, 21 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her mother and father, David and Bertha Bowen; stepmother Hazel, and brother Blair.

The family would like to thank Mom’s nurse Kiley and the aides at Valeo Home Health and Hospice for the kind care they showed our mother. A heartfelt thanks to Nola. Mom often referred to her as her adopted sister. Nola was like family to all of us.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. located at the Church building, 585 North Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Lenore was such a sweet lady. She surely lived a good long life and has influenced many. I’m happy she is reunited with Bill. May your family feel God’s love at this time.

Oh, how I love this lady! When I was called to be the Young Women’s president in my 20s I knew I wanted Lenore in there with me. She was a trooper accepting in her 70s. I’m so glad she did. Anything I needed, Lenore was there. I remember one Evening in Excellence—we were there setting up and I had forgot something. I can’t remember exactly what is was, but it was the most random thing. No need to worry, Lenore had it in her trunk! I swear, anything I needed, she always had it on hand. She was so fun and the girls loved her. I’m so glad I’ve been able to know and have her influence my whole life.

My mother was in club with Lenore for many years. Those ladies sure had a great time together. She was a very talented, sweet lady and she will be missed but what a reunion in heaven for her! Thinking of all of you and praying for comfort to your wonderful family.
