Lee Niels Jensen August 7, 1933 - March 20, 2024

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Lee Niels Jensen, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024.

Dad was born on August 7,1933 in Redmond, Utah to Emma Elizabeth Sorensen and Niels Peter Jensen. He graduated from North Sevier High School in 1951, He attended Stevens Henager Business School briefly before joining the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. He served from May 1953-March 1956. He served in Japan as the private secretary to the colonel.

Upon returning home from Japan, Lee stopped in to see his friend Jim. As luck would have it, Jim set Lee up on a blind date with a beautiful young woman named Janice Christensen. Janice said the spirit whispered in her ear, “this is the father of your children”. It’s been true love ever since this first date 68 years ago!

Lee married his sweetheart, Janice in the Salt Lake LDS temple on August 17, 1956. Together they had seven children: Nathan (Lisa), Kristine(John), Clark(Nanette), Warren, David(Coby), Joseph(Monique), and Ellis(Patrice). Along with their bonus son, Marty(Chelley) Hunsaker. Lee loved all his 19+4 bonus grandchildren and their mothers, and 21+ 7 bonus great-grandchildren.

In the Spring of 1959, Lee graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He worked as an accountant for many years, loving his work and his clients. He retired at the age of 78.

Lee had a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had many opportunities to serve in the church, including: Scout Master, Stake Missionary, Bishopric Counselor, Primary Teacher, Ward Clerk, and Financial Clerk.

Lee has been a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He has brightened many lives with his beautiful smile and the sparkle from his blue eyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents Niels and Emma Jensen; siblings: Ralph Olsen, James Olsen; son Nathan Jensen; in-laws; Noreen Olsen, Carol Olsen, Sharon Jensen, Alan Christensen, Fred Christensen, John Christensen, Karen & Leslie Richards. My Uncle Lee was a joy filled blessing. When he was around the world was better. His smile came from the Heavens. What a true blessing he was in our lives. When my Mom or Dad (Noreen and Ralph) told us Olsen kids we would be visiting Aunt Jan and Uncle Lee we were so happy and excited we could hardly wait to see all the boys and Kristine, our beloved cousins. We loved to visit their home in Benjamin. Aunt Jan’s cooking was so delicious. If you loved the dish she would give you the recipe. We played outside with the goats and had many stories to tell our friends. I am very sad to lose my Uncle. I have my golden memories, but I cherished his huge hugs and smiles. It’s tough to find the words to express my sorrow and how much I love the Jensen’s (all of you, that’s many great folks). I will grieve and shed some tears, I will always have a lump in my throat whenever I think about Uncle Lee. The visits to Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Redmond are still in my heart.. I still have and cherish the chop sticks he brought me from Japan many many years ago. I love you family and I pray you find comfort from the arms of our Heavenly Father at this really sad time.
