Larry K Phillips May 17, 1955 - October 3, 2019

Our loving dad and grandpa, Larry K. Phillips, was called home on October 3, 2019.  He was born on May 17, 1955, in Payson, Utah, to Iris Patterson Phillips and Victor Lamar Phillips.  He grew up in Springville, Utah, and graduated from Springville High School in 1973.  He met Pamela Marks and married her on April 24, 1976.  Together they have four children:  Codey, Ashley, Jamey and Casey.  Larry and Pamela were later divorced.

Larry was well-known in Spanish Fork for his service to the community. He was the general manager for Barry’s Park View Drive Inn for 12 years where he met and worked with many people from Spanish Fork. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Spanish Fork City tor 22 years.  He loved his time with the fire department, building many lifelong friendships with the men and women he served alongside. He spent much of his life in the U.S. Armed Forces. Larry served in the military reserves for 30 years; later retiring from the Air National Guard, where he worked as a civil crew chief at the Salt Lake International Airport.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandkids play sports, family BBQ’s, taking rides on his motorcycle, golfing, camping, coin collecting, and going to mountain-men rendezvous. He was always up for meeting his buddies at One Man Band for coffee, and liked shopping on Amazon.

Larry is survived by his four children: Codey (Brooke) Phillips, Ashley (Treavor) Atwood, Jamey (Zane) Norris, and Casey Phillips.  He is also survived by his sisters: Vicky (Gary) Oberg, and Debbie (Tom) Daley; his brother, David Phillips; and his mother-in-law, Rowane Marks; as well as by ten grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Iris Patterson Phillips; his father, Victor Lamar Phillips; father-in-law, Earl Dean Marks; and his sister, Sandy Phillips Cherrington.

A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 6-8 pm. at Walker Funeral Home, Spanish Fork, Utah.  Graveside service will be the morning of Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Salem City Cemetery.
