LaRae Lee Sherwood, age 82, of Santaquin, Utah passed away on November 7, 2019 in her son’s home. LaRae was born on December 11, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ray Lasson and Margaret June Palmer Bigler. She attended Van Nuys High School in California and later attended BYU.
She married Gerald L. Sherwood on February 25, 1955 in Mesa, Arizona Temple. Together they were blessed with 4 children. Gerald passed away on December 27, 1999.
LaRae loved working as a pre-school teacher. She also volunteered at Northridge Hospital.
She enjoyed ceramics, painting, and traveling with her husband.
LaRae was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved serving in Primary and Young Women’s.
LaRae is survived by her children; Jeff Sherwood of Santaquin, Utah, Greg Sherwood of Ogden, Utah, Jeral Sherwood of Sacramento, California, and LeAnn Mathews of Moorpark, California, 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and siblings Delanie Prescott-Tate of Hawaii, Scott Bigler of Tustin, California, and Kathy Crane of Orange, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald L. Sherwood.
Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, California.
