Lane Buckley Everson March 30, 1961 - August 28, 2024

Lane Buckley Everson, 63, of Salem, Utah, passed away on August 28, 2024, from heart complications.

Lane was born March 30, 1961, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Shirley Ann Travelstead McMullen and Buckley Everson and was the third of four children. From Las Vegas, the family moved to Sherman Oaks, California, then to Cyprus, California, before settling in Payson, Utah.

Lane graduated from Payson High School and received his associates degree at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he met and married Wendy (Granil) Everson. They had two wonderful daughters, Christi Laine Everson and Brooke Lauren Everson. Lane and his family enjoyed spending Thanksgiving holidays with the Kay family in Utah and 4th of July holidays in San Diego. Lane had a successful career working in insurance, first at AAA, then Met Life and Century 21, before moving on to build and own his own company, Exxact Insurance.

After Lane and Wendy divorced, he reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Jane Ann (York) Everson and they were married June 25th, 2016. During their time together Lane and Jane Ann loved to care for their multiple English bulldogs, including Izzie, Lillie, Taz, Bear, Gunner, Dora, and Georgie (Pug).

San Diego was one of Lane’s favorite places. He would spend many 4th of Julys hanging out at Mission Beach with his family. He loved it so much that he decided to marry Jane Ann on Coronado Island.

Together Lane and Jane Ann lived happily in their beautiful home on Salem Pond with front row seats for Salem Days fireworks enjoyed with family and friends. It was a beautiful sight at Christmas with the Pond Town Lights. Lane loved to share the beauty of the yard with many friends who came to fish, picnic, or just hang out.

Lane was a man with many interests. He was a NASCAR fanatic, religiously watching races every Sunday. He loved to cheer on his favorite drivers like Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jr, and Kyle Busch. When his daughters, Christi and Brooke, were younger they loved to watch NASCAR with Lane and snack on Peanut M&Ms. Christi, Brooke, Wendy, and Lane loved going to Talledaga and seeing their first live race.

He loved to watch football with Jane Ann cheering on their favorite teams, the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Green Bay Packers. At times, they would root for rival teams. Lane enjoyed cooking and could prepare a perfect medium rare rib-eye steak. He also loved Mexican food. He started a fun hobby raising exotic birds. He built his aviary with Jane Ann’s help. He made many friends trading and buying birds.

Lane was an avid Trump supporter. Make America Great Again.
