Kimberly Carmen Ramirez Luna Stockwell, age 19, peacefully passed away March 23, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Kimberly was born to Maria Elena Ramirez and Carlos Luna on April 21, 2003, in Orem, Utah. She was later adopted by her parents Cary and Cassandra Stockwell. Her thirteen siblings from both families loved her tremendously.
She had many wonderful life experiences as she attended Dan Peterson School in American Fork, Utah and Oakridge School in Springville, Utah.
Kimberly gained friends and self-identity as she participated in the many opportunities her schooling provided. She learned how to see, hear, and express herself as she experienced the many beautiful aspects of life.
Kimmy loved music, particularly her dad’s, which always brought her a smile. She enjoyed movies with one of her favorites being Twilight because she hoped that Edward would fix her body. She also enjoyed Star Wars, Star Trek, Encanto, August Rush, and cooking shows but her favorite was General Conference. She continually smiled through all four sessions. Kimberly loved being around people and had a flair for generating joy for those with whom she interacted. She had a great love of humor and learning. Most importantly, Kimmy gave sass to those she loved. Kimberly was skilled in using her facial expressions to convey her feelings and wasn’t afraid to be dramatic when the situation called for it. Kimmy loved to make people laugh and lighten the mood by telling jokes on her Tobii (a communication device she controlled with her eyes). Everyone loved talking to Kimmy even if it took a minute for her to finish the punchline.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kimmy enjoyed Young Women and being with her friends. They helped her complete and pass her scripture reading in seminary. She looked forward to Young Women’s camp every summer where she let the girls haul her up and down the mountain. Kimmy loved the temple. The Payson temple and its lights were especially meaningful to Kim.
Kimberly is survived by her parents, Cary and Cassandra Stockwell; biological parents, Maria Elena Ramirez and Carlos Luna; siblings: Garrett (Kirsten) Stockwell, Edwin (Griselda) Luna, Aiden (Tori) Stockwell, Breanna (Daniel) Anderson, Kevin (Lorena) Luna, Athziri (Francisco) Luna, Taylor Stockwell, Desirae (Justin) Stockwell, Karla Luna, Kenneth (Jayda) Stockwell, Mindy Luna, Brian Luna, and Yaretzi Luna; grandparents Keith and Mary Barton, Abuelo Manuel Ramirez, and Abuela Teresa Torres; and 15 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Darrell and Bonnie Stockwell, Abuela Carmen Gabiño, and Abuelo Jose del Carmen Luna.
As the man with palsy in the scriptures was carried by his friends to Christ, numerous people helped carry Kimberly through life as she prepared to meet her Savior. These people include friends; brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; church members and leaders; neighbors; bus drivers; aides; the teachers and techs at Oakridge; the supportive students at Springville High School; the staff at IHC hospice; the wonderful nurses at Horizon Home Health and Harmony Home Health; her primary care physician, Dr. Fullmer; the many physicians and nurses at Primary Children’s Hospital; her loving bath aide, Wendy; and countless other angels.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 482 West 1400 South, Payson, Utah with a viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. There will also be a viewing Friday, March 31, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Give Kids The World or Make A Wish Foundation.
