1956 – 2021
Kevin Wilford Walker of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, returning home to a place of peace, comfort, and rest; he was 65 years old.
Kevin was born March 31, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Stephen Wilford Walker, Jr. and Lois Geniel Adams. He grew up in Orem, Utah, where he graduated from Orem High School in 1974.
As a youth, Kevin spent much of his time at his grandparents’ farm property on 1300 S. in Orem, harvesting fruits from their orchards and berry patches, planting and harvesting vegetables from their gardens, and caring for and managing livestock and other animals. He gained knowledge and skills on the farm that he would use the rest of his life, and spoke often of those cherished days with his grandparents.
Kevin married JoAnn Robinson in 1975 in Orem, Utah. From their union came four sons: Kevin Justin in 1975, Brandon Wilford in 1977, Waylon Elmo in 1983, and Wade Adam in 1986. The couple later divorced.
As a newlywed, Kevin worked at the famed Star Flour Mill in American Fork, Utah for several years, also living in the nearby mill house for a time. The family moved to Orem in the early 1980s, and eventually to Spanish Fork in the early 1990s. Kevin was a hardworking, dedicated, loyal employee at every job he ever held, having a strong work ethic and always providing well for his family.
In the mid-1980s Kevin began working at the Geneva Steel plant in Orem as a brick welder in the intense heat of the coke ovens. He remained employed with Geneva until the plant closed in the early 2000s, when he took a job at Longview Fibre (now WestRock), where he began as a machine operator. Kevin was eventually promoted to a position in the graphics department where he produced the printing plates used in box manufacturing for WestRock’s plants in several states. He remained at WestRock until his retirement in 2020.
Kevin was naturally witty and quick to say something funny in most conversations. In social circles he displayed a huge sense of humor, a big personality, and a boisterous and contagious laugh. His jokes and stories were always sure entertainment for everyone present.

Kevin enjoyed many hobbies over the years, employing his various talents and passing them on to his children and grandchildren. Kevin was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman, a skilled taxidermist, a talented woodworker, and an excellent gardener. His legacy as a proud, self-proclaimed “country boy” will be his most cherished and remembered characteristic among those who knew and loved him.
Kevin is survived by all of four his sons; a devoted daughter-in-law, Michelle; Three grandchildren, Justice Brandon (Baily), Kasen Wilford, and Whitney Jo; a great-grand daughter, Hazel Lynn; his brother, Randy, and sister, Linda; and three half-siblings, Dale, Wayne, and Anne.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father and mother; a brother, Richard; and two half brothers, Robert and Douglas.
Funerary services will be provided and arranged by Walker Mortuary of Spanish Fork (187 S. Main St.). Family and friends may visit the mortuary to pay their respects on the evening of Thursday, June 17, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Interment will take place the following day in the Parowan, Utah City Cemetery at 11:30 am, following a brief graveside service. Any able to attend are welcome.
