Dr. Kent J Williams, 81, passed away the 30th of December 2020 at his home in Orem, Utah. He spent the last few days of his life surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Kent was born January 1, 1939, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Evelyn Jones and David Clark Williams. Kent graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1957. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1965, with a double major in Accounting and Economics. He then went on to graduate from University of Pacific Dental School in San Francisco, CA, in 1974.
While attending BYU, he met his wife, Sharon Hudson. They were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 4, 1966. They raised four children in Walnut Creek, CA, where they
lived for 50 years. Kent practiced dentistry in Concord, CA, where he was loved by all of his patients and staff.
During his college years, he was proud to serve his country as a member of the Utah National Guard, from 1957- 1965. He also served a two-and-a-half-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brazilian South Mission. He was able to return to South Brazil 49 years later and reunite with three of the people he baptized and their families, which was a true highlight of his life.
Kent was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings, including bishoprics and stake high councils. He had a great testimony of the Gospel and a deep faith in God and eternal families. He had a true love for people and cherished his family and friendships.
Kent is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Hudson Williams; his younger brother, Glade Williams, Spanish Fork, Utah; and younger sister, Mara (Rodger) Lyman, Highland, Utah; and his children: Marci (Evan) Nelson, Walnut Creek, CA; Kimberly (Russ) Richards, Orem, Utah; David (Angie) Williams, Lindon, Utah; Kelley (Ryan) Hauck, Alpine, Utah; 14 grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a private family graveside service on January 9, 2021, at the Spanish Fork Cemetery. A Celebration of Life, for all to attend, will be in July 2021. Please email kimwrichards@gmail.com for further information.

January 5, 2021 at 11:02 pmMy condolences go out to Sharon and family. Kent and Sharon were a wonderful addition to the East Bay Singles Ward (EBSW); their service to all of us was a treasure and immeasurable. Kent’s kindness and sense of humor are unforgettable. When the original EBSW was dissolved, he was one of the first people to console, have compassion and come to our aide–for which I am most grateful! I pray the Lord’s loving arms may surround Sharon and all of the family with comfort and peace…until we all meet again.
