Kent Viklund, born on October 29, 1948 in American Fork, Utah, was a man whose life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and the great outdoors. Even as we mourn his passing on August 28, 2024, we celebrate the joy and inspiration he brought to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Kent was a man of simple pleasures. He found his calling as a cement truck driver for Geneva Rock, a career that allowed him to combine his love for hard work with his love for the open road. Retiring from the construction business never meant retiring from life for Kent. He filled his days with the hobbies he cherished – camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling. These activities weren’t just hobbies for Kent, but a way of life, a testament to his adventurous spirit and his love for nature.
What mattered most to Kent were the people in his life. His wife, Cynthia Viklund, was his life’s greatest joy, their marriage on June 21, 1997, was a celebration of a love that only grew stronger with time. His children, Jennifer Draper and Jeff Viklund, were his pride and joy, a living legacy of his love and values. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his siblings, Glenna, Kristi, Vic, and Dian.
Kent was also blessed with a loyal circle of friends from his Geneva Rock days. He loved going to breakfast with them, a simple ritual that filled his days with laughter and camaraderie. Kent was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Lena Viklund, and his brother Neal Viklund.
At Kent’s request, a service is not planned.
