Kenneth Lee Nosack, 82, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
He leaves behind his children Kris Nosack, Kurt Nosack, Michelle Shepherd, and spouses. And 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Ken was born in Murray, Utah to Keith and Shirley Nosack. He had a happy childhood with his younger brother Wally. He graduated from Jordan High School.
In 1962 he married Mary Stout and they lived for several years in Anaheim, California where they had their first child, Kris. They moved back to Utah (Midvale) where Michelle and Kurt were born. Later the family moved to American Fork, then Lehi, then Covered Bridge Canyon where they built a log home. For the last several years Ken and Mary lived in Spanish Fork. Mary passed away in 2019.
Ken had several jobs over the years: motel manager, typewriter and copier repairman, business owner (black powder rifles and campers), movie special effects technician, scenery carpenter. He loved working with his hands and was always making things. He especially loved woodworking, including woodturning.
He had many interests and hobbies: music (accordion and piano), motorcycle racing, square dancing, wildflower photography, canoeing, hunting and shooting, mountain biking. As a young family they attended mountain man rendezvous dressed in period clothing and sleeping in the teepee they made. The family often went camping.
Ken was trustworthy and honest. He could be counted on to do what he said he’d do. His family and friends admired his integrity and loyalty. He was a good husband and father who led by example.
Viewings will be held at the Oakview meetinghouse (3477 E River Bottoms Road, Spanish Fork, Utah) on Thursday, September 29th from 6 to 8 pm, and Friday, September 30th from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30th at the Oakview meetinghouse beginning at 11 am.

September 26, 2022 at 4:54 pmI’m so sad to hear that Ken passed away! He was such a good, kind man, and I have some lovely memories of him—riding in one of his dune buggies, visiting for a family party at the log house up the canyon with my mom and dad. It’s so hard when they leave us!. Praying for your family at this sad time and sending my love.

September 27, 2022 at 2:15 amI only talked with Ken a couple times but knew he was a special soul. My family moved into his cabin home he built in covered bridge just over two years ago. I was glad I could tell him to his face how thankful we are for the absolutely beautiful home and yard he created here. I thanked him for planting and caring for those trees in the yard so many years ago. I will say that I didn’t know he passed until the following day but the morning after he passed my wife woke up early that morning and all the lights where turned on in the house downstairs, As if someone had paid a visit. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was Ken making one last visit to the home he knew so well. Thank you again ken. God speed.

September 30, 2022 at 2:01 amI am Patsy Stout Mercer, Mary’s cousin. (Mary’s dad Cyril and my dad Eldwin are brothers.) Janet told me of Ken’s unexpected passing and, though I know it can be very hard for his family, it sounded like a blessing for him and Mary. I’m happy for them. May you children and grandchildren take comfort in the lives you’ve enjoyed having such wonderful parents and grandparents and may the Lord bless you at this difficult time.
