Kelsey Nicole Anderson March 13, 1995 - February 21, 2020

Our sweet Kelsey Nicole Anderson, 24 years old, peacefully passed away surrounded by family in the hospital on February 21, 2020, after battling a viral infection. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving parents, her two sisters, other family members and friends who Kelsey had touched throughout her very memorable life.

Kelsey was born March 13, 1995 in Payson, Utah to Mark and LeAnn Anderson. At two months of age, she contracted Bacterial Meningitis, leading to subsequent limitations both developmentally and physically. Although, nonverbal and wheelchair bound, that didn’t prevent Kelsey from living a happy and fulfilling life. She spent many years going to school, watching movies, enjoying fresh air on bike rides, going on family vacations, having family fires in the backyard, joyriding in the road runner with dad, and best of all, making those around her do silly things to make her belly laugh.

With Kelsey’s passing, we remind others her life is one to be celebrated. We will miss her every day, especially her contagious smile and belly laugh. She will have a lasting influence on how we choose to live our lives and treat those around us. She will always be a constant reminder to laugh as much as possible and enjoy the simple beauty that life has to offer.

Without question we need to thank the countless individuals who greatly influenced and fostered Kelsey to grow into the amazing woman that she was. To the following individuals and teams there are no words adequate enough to truly express our gratitude for their efforts and sacrifices they so willingly made to better the life of Kelsey and our family. Your examples never went unnoticed and will always be remembered. Thank you to Peggy Freek and Oakridge/Sierra Bonita staff, Gina Farrer and Danville Services staff, Marylou Brandon, Micki Johnson, Cindy Duncan, Brad Jex, Marlene Anderson, Kristi Gertsen, Mary Walker, Jennifer Maughn, Whitney Crane, Megan Oropeza, Michelle Ruward, Jorge Michalek, Debbie Hill, Ian McMaster, Kristy Hubbard, Primary Children’s, Shriner’s, and the many others who were a part of Kelsey’s wonderful educational and medical journey. A special thank you to the Utah Valley ICU team for making Kelsey comfortable as well as providing exceptional care and emotional support amid a very difficult time and during our last moments together as a family.

Kelsey is survived by her loving parents, Mark and LeAnn Anderson of Spanish Fork; sister Jessica (Alex) Sipherd; sister Caitlin (Dallin) Naulu; maternal grandparents Dean and Rosalie Olsen of Springville; nieces and nephews Gwen Sipherd; Luna Sipherd; Rook Naulu; Preceded by paternal grandparents Lynn and LaVonda Anderson; niece Auni Naulu.

I’m so very sorry to hear of your sweet angels passing. You don’t know me but my Graycee was the one that you let have Kelsey’s wheelchair years ago. We’ve never forgot your kindness or the love & joy that her chair brought to Graycee. I pray that you will find peace and comfort at this time. Kori

    Mark and LeAnn,
I’m so heartbroken to hear of Kelsey’s passing. I worked at the pediatric office for about 5 years and Kelsey is one I will never forget. I remember her love for Jimmy Neutron cartoons, her big smile, and her contagious laugh. She definitely seemed like a daddy’s girl, he could always make her giggle. I am so very sorry for your loss, Kelsey is going to be deeply missed. I’m sending my thoughts and prayers to your family. I hope you can find peace at this difficult time.
