With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kayla Lee Blackburn, who departed this life on August 30, 2025, in Murray, Utah, at the age of 45. Born in Salt Lake City on March 22, 1980, Kayla was a radiant soul whose compassion and strength touched countless lives.
Raised in the quiet town of Aurora, Utah, Kayla carried the warmth of her hometown with her wherever she went. She graduated from North Sevier High School in Salina, UT, and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University—a reflection of her deep commitment to helping others heal and grow.
Kayla dedicated her professional life to mental health and was a valued counselor at Sandstone Psychology in Salem, UT. Her work was more than a career—it was a calling. She approached each client with empathy, wisdom, and unwavering support.
Outside of work, Kayla found joy in life’s simple pleasures: hiking scenic trails, diving into good books, and playing board games—all shared with her beloved daughter, Lily. Their bond was the heart of her world, and every moment spent together was cherished.
A woman of faith, Kayla was an active member of Centerpoint Church in Orem, UT, where she found community, purpose, and spiritual strength.
Kayla is survived by her loving mother, Katherine Frederick; her treasured daughter, Lily Blackburn; and her devoted sisters, Barbara Wolfe (Dan) and Hilary Withers (Joseph). She was preceded in death by her father, John Frederick, whose memory she held close.
Kayla’s legacy lives on in the lives she uplifted, the family she adored, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

September 12, 2025 at 11:58 amSweet Kayla. You were the best friend I ever had. How grateful I am to have spent time with such an amazing person. You helped our family out so much. More than I expressed. You loved hard. You were the best mom I have ever met. You were a friend I could always confide in. You loved nature, rocks, animals, family and most of all, Jesus. I didn’t know my twin was out there, but I was fortunate to find you. You always gave the best advise, and took the time to know the best and worst about me, and you never judged. You took the time to get to know me as a person and drew me in closer. The countless times you helped Bob with school and obtaining connections ❤️ We are so grateful for you. Thank God your car broke down many times. What an honor it was to finally have served you for everything you have helped our family with. That time was so precious, to see you, to spend time with you and to give you one last hug. I will never forget you Kayla. May god rest your soul. Until we meet again. ❤️🪽✝️
