Kay Robbins Banks was born June 6, 1957 to Joshua Grant Robbins and Evelyn Reed
Robbins. She returned to her Father in Heaven May 5, 2019 surrounded by those who
love her. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She grew up in Springville, Utah, attending school there and graduating from Springville
High School in 1975. After high school, she continued her education at the Utah
Technical College. During this period, she met and fell in love with Jeffery Paul Banks,
whom she married on September 10, 1976. They were sealed in the Provo Utah
Temple and settled in Spanish Fork where they raised their family.
Kay was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where
she served faithfully in many callings including; Relief Society President, Stake Young
Women’s President, Young Women’s Leader, and Primary Chorister.
She worked professionally as a florist and art teacher, but her most beloved role in life
was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She raised seven kids of her own, and was
an adoptive mother to many friends, students and colleagues.
Kay was an immensely talented artist. She enjoyed painting, crafting, quilting,
decorating, and all forms of creative expression. More than anything, Kay enjoyed
making other people feel loved. She had an infinite capacity to show kindness, care,
and love toward everyone she knew. In turn, she was beloved by all that knew her.
She was always the life of the party, making sure everyone was included, and is known
for her storytelling, comedic nature, and quick wit.
Kay seemingly mastered every admirable attribute a human being can possess. She
was selfless, caring, compassionate, creative, talented, smart, witty, hilarious, and most
of all loving. Her positivity will be greatly missed.
In recent years, she suffered multiple health challenges. She faced these challenges
valiantly and courageously, always maintaining her positive nature. Many thanks are
owed to the numerous medical professionals who cared for Kay with special thanks
going to her husband of 42 years, the most devoted and steadfast caretaker she could
ever have.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and grandson Greyson. She
is survived by her husband, Jeff, their seven children, and ten grandchildren, Whitney
Hancock (Bryan—Elle, Libby, McKade, Trey, Aila), Riley Banks (Justine—Bentley,
