Kathy was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 3, 1951 to Jay C Schofield and LaNea Michaelson. She was the oldest of her siblings Mark Jay, Joseph Blaine, and LuAnn. She attended school in Blackfoot, Idaho; and graduated from Blackfoot High School. After attending school at the LDS business college, Kathy established herself in Salt Lake City making friends that she would keep for a lifetime with her sincere and caring disposition. She met Ray Don Arnn who she married and had two sons with; Mason J and John William.
Kathy raised her sons back in Blackfoot, Idaho herself. She took pride in her work as a secretary for the school district; especially the time in the Special Education Department. She was a terrific and determined mom who always put her children first. From camping trips and annual Utah Jazz games; to adventures spanning Yellowstone, Olympic, and other National Parks. She ensured memorable experiences that will be forever cherished. In this way, she gifted her sons with her adventurous outlook. She hauled them throughout southeastern Idaho for their Golf tournaments, made sure they practiced musical instruments, braved winter weather for Skiing, and made sure they made their team sports and Scouts activities. Going above and beyond to make sure they had a memorable and quality childhood.
As a dedicated mother, Kathy was ecstatic when she became a grandmother to her three grandchildren Madison, Rhea, & Allison. She eagerly sought any opportunity to spend time with her grandbabies, cherishing even the simplest moments like playing cards, engaging in art projects, board games or just watching movies together on the couch. She delighted in taking them on activities, including hiking, shopping and watching their soccer practices and games. She made lasting memories and continued to impart her adventurous outlook with them exploring ice castles, rafting down rivers and riding UTVs.
Katherine Schofield Arnn will be greatly missed by her sons, grand-daughters, other family and close friends. She was a wonderful person who brightened the lives of whoever met her.

February 9, 2024 at 5:54 amKathy was a master of keeping all of us connected as we taught special education in the Blackfoot School District. Her biggest love, however, were her boys. She was certainly a true “Mama Bear”. She will be missed, for sure!
