Kaliski "Nick" Stringfellow Livestream Broadcast

Kaliski “Nick” Deval Stringfellow, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 64. Nick was born on October 18, 1961, in Monroe, Louisiana, to his mother, Lou Wright. His childhood was shaped by the love of two states, Louisiana and California—each holding a special place in his heart.

Nick spent his earliest years in Louisiana with his grandparents, Nolan and Henrietta Stringfellow, whose influence and affection stayed with him throughout his life. His elementary years were spent in Oakland, California, where he lived with his mother and sister. For high school, he returned to Louisiana to live with his grandmother and graduated from Chatham High School. Nick often said he had “the best of both worlds,” blessed by the closeness of his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family spread across both states.

Thirty-five years ago, Nick made Utah his home. It was there that he built his life, raised his family, and found the love of his life. On March 31, 1995, he married Jaymie Lee in Salem, Utah. To Jaymie, he was her “sweetie” and the love of her life—her partner, her steady place, and her greatest blessing.

Nick lived a life full of passion, curiosity, and dedication. In high school, he was a proud member of the basketball team and loved retelling the story of the night he blocked Karl Malone’s shot in a rival game to win—a memory he carried with a grin and a spark of pride.

In 1989, he attended Circa in Las Vegas, Nevada, earning a degree in computer competency. In the early 1990s, he continued his education at Salt Lake Community College, receiving an associate degree in Aviation and earning his Airframe and Powerplant license. His love of aircraft and engineering led him to a long and varied career: working on commercial airlines, helicopter engines, and small aircraft; serving as a mechanic on fighter jets; and contributing to military aircraft manufacturing at Klune.

Nick also served his country as a Naval Airman in San Diego, California, working on the flight line and serving as a plane captain for F-14 fighter jets—an experience that shaped his lifelong admiration for aviation.

Above all, Nick loved his family. He cherished traveling to visit extended relatives, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and exploring the beauty of Utah. Whether camping, hiking, or simply driving through the canyons, he found peace and joy in the outdoors.

Nick had a deep love of sports—playing city league baseball and basketball, joining pick-up games with friends, coaching his son Nicholas and his teammates, or cheering on his favorite teams from home. He enjoyed building model airplanes, especially F-14 fighter jets, and he had a profound fascination with the night sky. He could spend hours stargazing, pointing out constellations, and sharing the wonders of space with his family.

Nick is survived by his devoted wife, Jaymie; his mother, Lou Wright; his daughter Karlee (Christopher) Nyberg; his son Nicholas Stringfellow; and his grandchildren Avah, Lilah, and Declan Nyberg, and Noah and Ni Kayla Noble. He is survived be his sister Melanie, his little brother Jomaine. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Nolan and Henrietta Stringfellow, his mother‑in‑law Bonnie Wright, and several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who kept Nick in their thoughts and prayers. They also wish to thank the dedicated medical staff—nurses, respiratory therapists, occupational and physical therapists, and physicians—who cared for Nick over the past seven months. A special thank‑you goes to Craig Cook and Dr. Al Shuquarat, whose diligence and compassion made it possible for Nick to return home for a precious time with his family.

Jaymie would like Nick to know how grateful she is that he chose her, and that he came to Utah to build a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Mr. Stringfellow was a great man, a provider, a hard worker, and one of principle. As a child I was welcomed into his home by him and his wife; as an adolescent I was shown grace, and as an adult I was gifted wisdom. I’ll forever be thankful for the bond and friendship of my brother Nicholas Stringfellow, his son. Thank you, from the deepest of my heart for introducing me to such a wonderful being, his father. With love, Cody
