It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin and friend Kaitlen Dawn Mitchell.
She was born in Payson Utah to Anthony and Andrea Sorenson Mitchell on March 19, 2007. She joined her big brother Samuel and her sister Savannah and was later joined by sisters Isabelle and Kelsie. She loved her family so much and left us way to soon on November 9, 2025.
Kaitlen spent her first five years in Woodruff, Utah where she was able to let her imagination run. She then moved to Payson when her dad became a basketball coach at Payson High School. She spent many nights (and years) cheering the Lions on until she graduated in May 2025. She loved being close to family and created many fun memories with her cousins and friends.
She was the lone beautiful brunette in a family of blondes which made her even more special. She had a talent for doing makeup and skin care and enjoyed sharing that knowledge and skill with others. Her job at Ulta Beauty was a great place for her.
Ever since Kaitlen was little she loved children and they loved her back. She loved teaching them games, dances and their ABC’s. She spent many fun times playing “teacher” to her sisters, cousins and friends and making them laugh. She loved being a nanny and it brought so much joy to her and to the kids she watched over and loved.
She loved going on family trips especially to the family cabins and enjoyed horse rides in the beautiful mountains at Holiday Park. Kaitlen really loved animals, whether it be kittens, puppies, bunnies or horses. She loved spending time at her Grandma Mitchell’s tending to her horse, Apollo. St George was a favorite place where she could soak up the sunshine, swim in the pool, and enjoy the hot tub with a shake, takis, and of course her family.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had faith and hope in her Savior Jesus Christ. May she rest in the arms of His love until that day when she can be back in the arms of her family who dearly loves her. She will be missed every day.
Kaitlen is survived by her loving parents, Andrea and Anthony Mitchell, her brother Samuel and his wife Ellie, and her three sisters, Savannah, Isabelle and Kelsie Mitchell. She also leaves behind her grandparents Max and Liz Mitchell and Paul and DeeAnn Sorenson and by her great grandmother Dawna Stewart as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. We love you Kaitlen.
A visitation will be held on Friday November 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Payson South Stake Center, 711 South 600 East, Payson, Utah. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 15, 2025, at the stake center.
There will be a private visitation for close friends and family on November 15, 2025.
