Judy Menlove Osborne January 4, 1947 - July 9, 2020

Judy Menlove Osborne succumbed to the effects of diabetes, July 9, 2020, at the age of 73. Grandma Judy, as she was affectionately called by those around here, loved her family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with loved ones playing games, camping or any activity that allowed her to see her adoring family. She had a fiery-competitive spirit, but a heart that cared deeply about those around her.

Judy was born January 4, 1947, to Cleon and Ida Menlove, in Provo, Utah. Judy was the first girl for Cleon and Ida, after the birth of three boys. She later would be the big sister to two younger female siblings. She attended Grandview Elementary, Dixon Jr. High and Provo High School, graduating in 1965. She had exceptional secretarial skills and after high school, she left Utah for California to live with her brother, Rodger Menlove, so she could work at L.A. Power and Light. It was in California that she met the love of her life, Joel Osborne. They were married on September 16, 1966, in the Salt Lake Temple.

After the birth of their first child in 1968, Jody Osborne, they moved back to Utah. In 1971, they had their second and final child, a daughter, Roxanne Osborne. Family was everything to Grandma Judy and trips with grandparents and relatives was a common occurrence for the Osbornes. Trips to Strawberry Lake and Starvation Reservoir were yearly events, as was the drive to California to visit Disneyland. Judy was grandma to many people in the neighborhood, with the Osborne house, the place to hang out.

Judy was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life, serving in many capacities, including ward and stake Young Women President. She also served at the adult gospel doctrine teacher and fell in love with this position.  Most of her adult life was spent in the American Fork 5th Ward, with the Spanish Fork 22nd Ward being home for the last 10+ years of her life. Judy had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and took comfort in knowing that her frail body would someday be healed and she would be able to live eternity with her family.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Joel Osborne;  and both her children, Jody (Wendy) and Roxanne Tidwell. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and spouses, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Menlove; and sisters, Joy Chytraus (Donn) and Becky Jones; and her father-in-law, Pete Nickolas; and her sister-in-law, Carole Cole (Norman). She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Cleon and Ida Menlove; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Nickolas; two older brothers, Alan and Rodger Menlove; and by David Menlove and LaDawn Escobar, in addition to many others.

I’m sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of times with the Osborne family. Judy was always kind and patient with some rambunctious kids that spent a lot of time at there house.
