Joshua Joseph Dixon (August 6, 1986 – December 28, 2023)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Joseph Dixon, known affectionately as Josh, on December 28, 2023, in Spanish Fork, Utah. Born on August 6, 1986, in Provo, Utah, Josh lived a life marked by resilience, humor, and a deep commitment to his family and community.
Josh leaves behind his beloved wife, Kristy Ann Messersmith Dixon, and their cherished children, Evee (princess), Adylee (angel), and Swayzee Dixon (little peanut), and their bonus daughter, Kaylee Austin Dixon (“pain in the butt” but loved her to death). He was a proud stepfather to Koben (fellow sports jokester) and Madix (fellow hunting buddy) O’Driscoll. He is also survived by his mother, Glenda Sue Dixon, and siblings Michelle (Robert) Marx, Chad (Misty) Nicol, and Alexa Roberts. Also survived by his beloved father- and mother-in-law Ralf and Diane Schmirald. He is preceded in death by Glen Dixon (“Gramps”).
A successful small business owner, Josh ran Western Skies HVAC and Handyman with dedication and skill. His passions included the Utah Utes, country music (in fact, everything country!), hunting, golfing, fishing, and the Utah Jazz. Above all (even above the Utah Utes), Josh cherished spending time with his children, a testament to his loving and devoted nature.
Josh’s life was a journey of overcoming challenges, always striving to support others, particularly those battling addiction. His quick wit and sharp sense of humor will be fondly remembered by his close friends and family. He once said, “To my kids, you are my world. To my wife, you are my love. To the Utah Utes, you are my passion,” capturing the essence of his heart and humor.
We invite friends and family to join us in celebrating Josh’s life. An evening viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and a morning viewing on Wednesday, January 3, from 9:45 to 10:45 am, with memorial services beginning at 11 am. These will take place at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah, followed by interment at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah, aside Gramps.
In lieu of flowers, the Josh Dixon GoFundMe account was set up at gofundme.com/f/z9nys-josh-
Joshua’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

December 31, 2023 at 5:17 amJosh was truly an amazing man. In highschool he was kind to me when others were not. I never forgot his kindness to me. I will be forever greatful I chatted with him a few months ago. He lived his family so much! His kids meant the world to him. The world is a little darker without his smile.
