Joshua Cabe Billings left us, unexpectedly, on January 25, 2021. We grieve the loss of all the potentially wonderful occasions, exciting experiences and quiet moments that we could have shared with him. Our lives will be less full with his absence, but we hope for a time when we are together again.

Joshua was born as the second son to R. Brent Billings and Carma H. Billings at the American Fork, Utah hospital on July 13, 1977. The family started out in Orem, and over the years Josh helped his one older brother welcome four more brothers—six energetic boys who would all grow up together in Payson, Utah. They played in the
backyard, rode their bikes in the nearby vacant fields, had awesome adventures in the snow, fought a little, went to school when necessary, grew “upward” and eventually reached adulthood, but kept hold of their youthful energy and playfulness. Josh loved his family, and his time with them helped shape him into the man we all knew and loved.
Feeling the need to have an even bigger family, Josh found Kelly Rivera and her young son Joshua, and knew he wanted them in his life. They married on October 6th, 2012. They overcame many hardships together, worked through difficult situations, had good times living, loving, and growing older.
Josh knew the value of hard work, and took pride in a job well done. He was skilled at many things, including metalworking and welding, woodworking, gardening, laying concrete, and more. Sometimes it seemed like Josh could do anything. He was always ready to start his next project. He was also very generous with his time and skills, and would help out family, neighbors, and friends with their projects. When the work was done though, Josh could play just as hard as he worked. Whether with family or friends, he took every chance he could to enjoy life: camping, road trips, snowmobiling, boating, any adventures his schedule would allow.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents and two infant siblings, Darren and Andrea. We know they are glad to have their big brother Josh with them to tell all his stories about his

adventures in life. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, neighbor and friend. He is survived by his parents, his wife Kelly and her children, and his brothers and their families: Jarime Billings (Krystal), Thaddeus Billings, John Billings (Natalie), Aaron Billings (Mickelle), and Derek Billings (Courtney). We will miss you very much, Josh. May our fond memories of you stay vivid in our minds and hearts as we continue on through the coming years.
We are asking at this time for monetary donations to help cover funeral and burial costs. There is an account at Zions Bank in Payson, Utah, under Kelly

Rivera. There is also a GOFUNDME account. Here is a link:
We thank you all so much for the love and support we feel at this time.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1 PM at he Payson 9th Ward, 1080 South 930 West, Payson. There will be a visitation on Saturday prior to the services at the church from 11:30am -12:30pm. Interment will follow in the Payson City Cemetery. January 30, 2021 at 9:40 pmI can’t really express how truly saddened I am by Josh’s passing. Just a few weeks ago I got a big bear hug of his and that great smile at another tragic passing of a friend.. Kaitlin and I have been talking about all of our Josh moments, like when he opened my front door to come in see one of the kids and I hear a quite Mama Fray, only to find Josh frozen ait the door, with Duke, the Great Dane standing in front barring his path, until I said come in. We laughed and hugged and I got that exact same smile. That smile and his gentle, kind soul will be what I remember most. His path was rough and ragged and shared by many fellow travellers, but lthat was not Josh, there was something very special about him. His light goes on and is in each of you. My love to all of you and may God bless you.
