Jordan Davis Livestream Broadcast

Jordan “JD” Wyatt Davis, 44, of Woodland Hills, Utah, devoted husband, loving father, and dear friend, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on August 14, 2026.

Jordan was born on January 19, 1982, in Walnut Creek, California, to Mark and Debra Davis. He and his sister, Jennifer, were raised in a loving Latter-day Saint home where faith, family, service, and helping others were important parts of everyday life. Jordan was always willing to lend a hand, whether at church, at home, or wherever he saw someone who needed help.

As a young child, Jordan survived a serious accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. His recovery was nothing short of miraculous, and his family felt deeply that God had given him a second chance at life.
Jordan embraced that life wholeheartedly. He was energetic, curious, and fun-loving, with an eagerness to learn and a particular fascination with science and how things worked.

As a California kid, Jordan loved being active and tried his hand at just about everything. He participated in swim team, soccer, track and field—including the shot put—high school football, and wrestling. He also studied karate and earned a brown belt. Jordan became an Eagle Scout, and for his Eagle project he honored the nation by collecting and respectfully retiring old American flags, giving them the dignity and respect they deserved.

Jordan attended Antioch High School and later graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in neuroscience in 2010. While at BYU, he joined the cheerleading squad for two years and even occasionally filled in as Cosmo. He loved the fun and energy of it, and his willingness to jump in and participate was very much a part of who he was. Jordan also served as a missionary in Atlanta, Georgia, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A Life of Learning and Service

Jordan’s career reflected his curiosity, his desire to keep learning, and his deep desire to help others. He began working as a teenager as a manager at the Regal Cinema in Antioch, California. During his college years, his love of science and biology led him to work in several laboratories at BYU. He also worked as a security guard and volunteered as a youth sports coach.

It was through his work with children at the Utah State Hospital that Jordan discovered his calling in healthcare. As a technician working in the activities department, he found purpose in caring for others and developed a special connection with the children and patients he served. That experience inspired him to pursue nursing, and in 2015 he became an LPN.

Jordan’s desire to learn and serve continued to grow, eventually leading him to pursue his dream of becoming a physician. In 2018, he was accepted to AUC School of Medicine. He completed the didactic portion of the program, but illness and the extraordinary circumstances and restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 prevented him from completing his medical education.

Jordan returned to the Utah State Hospital, where he once again found joy and purpose in his work as an LPN. He cared deeply for his patients and developed meaningful relationships with his coworkers. He valued the people he worked alongside and was grateful for the opportunity to care for those who depended on him.

A Husband, Father, and Friend

Above all else, Jordan was the beloved husband of Kaycie and the loving father of Amelia and Jack. His family was the center of his world, and the life they built together was his greatest joy. Jordan had a deep love for the outdoors and a yearning for the simple, self-sufficient life of homesteading. He loved raising chickens, working in his garden, and spending time outside. He also enjoyed crocheting—a hobby that might have surprised those who knew him primarily for his love of sports, science, and the outdoors.

And then there was the smoker. Jordan loved to “cook meats,” and he especially loved sharing what he made with family and friends. He took genuine pleasure in feeding people, and sharing something he had made was one of the ways he showed his love.

Jordan had a wonderful gift for making people laugh. His dry, wry sense of humor could catch you completely off guard, and he loved finding ways to make his family and friends smile. He was helpful, kind, generous with his time, and compassionate. He often seemed to know just the right thing to say.

Jordan made this world a better place simply by being in it. He lived with curiosity and enthusiasm, loved deeply, served others, and found joy in the people and things that mattered most to him. His impact reached far beyond his immediate family—to friends, coworkers, patients, and all those fortunate enough to know him.

Jordan leaves behind a family who loves him deeply and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever. His laugh, his humor, his kindness, his curiosity, and all the little things that made him uniquely Jordan, will be profoundly missed.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Woodland Hills LDS Chapel, 220 Woodland Hills Drive, Woodland Hills, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Island Park Cemetery in Island Park, Idaho, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Family, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives were touched by Jordan are invited to join us as we remember, honor, and celebrate his life.

He was deeply loved. He lived a life full of purpose, laughter, service, and love. He will be profoundly missed and forever part of our lives living on in our memory each and every day.
