Our loving daddy, pop pop, brother, uncle, and friend, John Sidney Thomas passed away on Thursday, May 14th at the age of 48. He was born in Payson, Utah on March 27, 1972 to Priscilla Sidney Hayes and Ronald Howard Thomas – who were thrilled to welcome a sweet baby boy to their family of five daughters. His sisters completely loved and adored their brown-eyed Johnny from the day he was born.
John attended Payson High School with the class of 1990 where he made many friends with lasting relationships. He would often laugh while sharing stories with his children of the shenanigans he and his buddies would get into. He’s always had the biggest heart and was quick to make friends and help others in need. To know John truly is to love him.
John married his sweetheart, Nicole Ann Holt, in 1997. Together they raised three beautiful children, Storm Ashlei, Hagen Howard, and Cooper Val. Papa John’s favorite place to be was anywhere his kids were. He was their number one fan – spending most of his time at the ball fields for practices and games. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate an excellent play, eat his weight in sunflower seeds, or spray a sweaty team down with a well preprepared Super Soaker. He loved riding motorcycles with his boys, shooting guns, fishing, spending time up Payson Canyon, escaping to Mesquite, playing video games with Coop Dog, and watching a good movie. He worked side by side with his dad to build the family home, and could fix just about anything with a good old jimmy-rig.
We will miss his kind eyes, belly laughs, teasing, and big bear hugs. We love you daddy, infinity X2.
John is survived by his best friend Nicole Thomas, daughter Storm (Eric) Seat, and sons Hagen and Cooper Thomas. His granddaughter Poppy Seat. And his sisters Tammy, Sandra, Peggy, Rhonda, and Annie.
The family will be holding private memorial services. For additional information please contact Walker Funeral Home directly.
